2014 Oklahoma Sectional

so it would be no different then any other match i shoot at OKC except I can shoot it for free?

how many RO's a squad are you planning on having per squad?

I'll be in Illinois this weekend. Won't be back to okcgc till August. Let me know if you need me if not that's cool too.

Strictly curiosity, not trying to pick a fight.
What are the advantages of 'roving' RO's?

Some of the advantages of 'fixed' RO's:

A fixed RO only has to concentrate on officiating 1 stage, allowing him to really learn it, and run it as safely and efficiently as possible. They can find and fix any potential problems as quickly as possible (shoot thru's, wonky steel, 180 traps, etc)

A fixed RO can run every shooter the same way...instead of the RO on 'that squad' letting guys lean, creep, bend, etc...(it happens)

A fixed RO doesnt have to compromise his own turn at shooting. The other shooters dont have to work as RO's while the rover is on deck, shooting, or topping off.

Fixed RO's shoot the day before to shake-down the stages and the chrono.

Fixed RO's have the opportunity to pick up their brass between squads or during breaks. (assuming its a lost brass match, since its a major)

Fixed RO's get to see every shooter in the match run that stage, its one of the most educational experiences you can have as an RO and a shooter.

Fixed RO's can't shoot the match since we are setting it up Friday afternoon and taking it down Saturday after shooting is done. That's really about the main reason.

Adding.
I agree completely with all of your points for sure and if we were doing a multi-day match or could block off the stages and shoot all the RO's the weekend before, we would for sure.

Understood. Maybe we can all wear chaps and cowboy hats, then the range might let us have the extra days;-)

I don't like the idea of shooting all of the RO's for any reason
