DON'T CALL THE TOLL FREE RESERVATION NUMBER! Phone the hotel local number at (479) 452-7100. Their 'rack rate' is $139, but they are giving us a rate of $99 for the match. Use the code name "Area 4" for this special rate.

This match is filling up fast, so get your entry in ASAP to be included.

If you are serious, get with Tony or someone else that has a chrono and at least make sure you are comfortably above PF. When I shot limited, I always ran 170-172 PF ammo at area matches. Very few chrono'swill read identical and it always seems like mine read higher than the box chrono's they use at big matches. I chrono'd on mine at 170.5 and at the nationals had to get to the last round and just made it. Going minor sucks but not as bad as the couple of production guys that will shoot this match for fun only and no score by going sub-minor. ;)

The incomplete, totally random guide to Ft Smith for those that havent been here before:

The match hotel is on the corner of Phoenix and 74th, near the entrance of the airport. Just north, up 74th st is Rogers Ave.
That section of Rogers is restaurant row. It has all the usual fast food and casual dining establishments, including Hooters, Starbucks, etc. Our BWW location is one of the few that does not have a gun buster sign on the door.

The traditional post match watering hole is Gringo's, its on your right (north) as you enter Ft Smith, from Barling, on your way back from the range. They love smelly guys in shooting jerseys.

Close to the match hotel (walking distance) is Joe's Cantina, good tex mex and cheap beer. There is also River City Deli, a Dunkin Donuts, a grocery store, and Sams Club.

Behind IHOP, next to Firehouse subs is a great little Thai place called Pad Thai.

Down home country cooking available at Calico County (further west on Rogers, behind the Ford dealership)

The only Dairy Queen in town is inside the mall.

I-540 is undergoing major construction. You shouldnt need to get on/off it while youre here, but avoid it anyway.

They always make us sit on the bird crap covered deck at Gringos. Nothing goes with pelican crap like a cold Negra Modelo.
Did you think that was chips and dip again?

Ah yes. The queso wasn't quite right now that you mention it.

Gonna be a great weekend! A little warm but fun nonetheless.
