2012 Double Tap Championship

Looks like somebody found a big hole in the design and gamed the crap out of Stage 9! I love it.
What happened?

Some people are going from Position 1, to 3, back to 2, then thru the target array (outside the shooting area) to position 4. Looks like something I would do;-) It'd be interesting to walk it that way and also straight up to see if theres any real difference.

Makes me wish I was there!

Squad 2 was great, helpful and supportive. 2 DQ's & a plethora of Procedurals. Dang it all!!!!
John and I got many compliments on our jerseys, not that they are cute but people really like Boomer Shooter.
We were happy to do a group pic in front of, I think stage 9, sponsor, BoomerShooter Banner.

I really enjoyed my first Doubletap championship match, finished 21 out of 21 but heck I finished, learned alot watching other people shoot. All in all was a great weekend.

312 Competitors, 17 DQ's (5.5%)
Typically, Majors run 3% - 5% DQ's
So, its a little high, but not much.
From watching the videos, it looks like there a few tricky spots for muzzle control.
DT is always a physical match too.
I'd be interested to know how many were 180's, dropped guns, and AD's.

why so many DQ's??

We didn't have anyone on our squad DQ, which was a first.

Those stages were very circus like. A lot less hosing compared to last year. Loys of targets and lots of movement which takes time and givea more opportinities for DQ's. My highest hit factor was 7.7.

There were a lot of ways to DQ at this match with the way the targets were setup and all the props. Hell I watched Phil Strader bite the dust coming out of the boat but he didnt lose the gun

We had 3 DQ's on our squad alone. Two for breaking the 180, one of those was on the last stage of the match, and one for moving with his finger on the trigger while doing a reload. I saw Mr. Neal take a bad fall out of the boat as well but he didn't break any rules with the gun. The match had a lot of tricky spots and the boat tripped up its fair share of shooters. I liked all the stages, some a little more cheesier than the others but it was a fun match. A lot less hosing than last year and more technical shooting this year.

why so many DQ's??

Squad 2
One 180
One over the burm
First stage right after lunch for those tracking performance after lunch.

Last year I got worse as day went on and espically after lunch.
This year I get better stage after stage.
I think I could finish in the money if it were a 24 stage match.
Just kidding.

DQ's were all 180's except one over the Berm and One Finger on the Trigger while Reloading. Most DQ's were on stage 9 when you Moved to your left and had to go slightly up range Folks Lead with there gun Rather than with there brain (Guess they were tinkling about the Cool hole in the Stage;-) FYI (We Found that hole before the Match and Opted to leave it to see if any one else would think of that, Guess they did, but not every one) only 3 folks that i heard could not get there feet high enough over the boat and fell.
