You're right! That's my dad's circa 1970 Browning 30-06. Kills them most of the time, every time. This was a kinda impromptu hunt that worked out really well.

Mine would have scored a lot of points for mass, but after the deductions for not being symetrical it would score very low. I took it because I like jacked up looking racks that have character.
Its hard to tell from the pic, but the bases were 5 1/2", and 6" in diameter respectively.

Finally got my permit to hunt Lake Lawtonka and Lake Ellsworth on City of Lawton land, never hunted there before so I am looking for any help if anyone knows how the hunting on that land is, especially for a bow hunter.

I'm not there, but have hunted the Lawtonka area that is beside the lake. Not much there. There are some hogs, and deer. Walking in from the refuge access point can get crowded at times. Some of the folks that have been successful in that area take a boat from the campground boat ramp, to save an hours walk, putting them in areas without as much hunting pressure.

Forgot to post up my deer for this year.
Here is my first one. Was late getting out to the stand since I helped my friend put around 70 T-post in the ground the night before. As I was crossing the field in my vehicle I saw this deer grazing. Pulled across the field and she was still in the same spot.View attachment 3884
