This was taken from a post John Bent made on the OKC Gun Club web site.

"We are in the planning stage for holding a Sectional in the Spring â€" probably the May time frame.  Details will follow in the coming weeks."

OKCGC website says May 28th. Of course its the same weekend as the closest major 3 gun match to OKC. Oh well!

More info from the Match Director...

"Hi Folks;

As previously mentioned, we’re planning an Oklahoma Sectional May 28th [with the 29th as an alternate day if needed]. The format will be an 8 stage match, one day, including a lunch â€" that’s the current plan. We are still making some decisions.

Usually, I’m the one who draws up the stages for our monthly matches â€" at least “a place to deviate from”, since as we get more heads looking at it and see it in real life we frequently get ‘twisted and evil’ ideas to enhance the original idea. In putting on a Sectional, one of the things we need to do is obtain approval for the stages through NROI in advance.

Here’s my thought: If anyone has a really good stage design in mind that you might like to see in a Sectional, draw it up and send it to me. No promises, but as we put together a stack of potential stages, it would be nice to have some fresh ideas by those of you who shoot. The courses need to be something we can realistically build and run, and we’re probably looking for round counts in the upper 20s.

I will plan on sending our final stage plans to USPSA toward the end of February, so any submissions would need to be sent to me by mid February so we can assemble, adjust, and narrow down the selection to fit the match.

Thanks.

John"

Should I? I don't think any of my stages will be approved by the SC! :)

This is going to rock. OK Sectional this weekend, doubletap the next.. Dang, I might become a pistol shooter. Lotsa matches within 2 hours versus driving all over hell and back for 3-gun..

Huh? Midwest 3 gun championship is May 20-22nd.

Imagine Midwest 3gn, OK Section Championship and Double Tap back to back...! I hope I can pull that off.

I may have to pull one off the calendar. :(

Midwest 3-gun is going to be a bust, I have a feeling. I pulled out of it even though sponsors wanted me to go. It has always been a great prize table waiting on a match, but now that FNH has pulled their sponsorship, I have got to imagine it will only be a moderate match with an ok table. I am sick of paying $250-$275 for matches too. :)

It was the dame weekend I think at one point now it not so we get a lot of shooting in.

Here is the match application. Now to figure out which trophy I want:)

"Hi Folks;

I’m finally catching up with myself!

By receipt of this email, I have registered you in the 2011 Oklahoma Limited & Production Championship. I will have some additional information to send out â€" probably mid-March or so â€" regarding options for shirts and things like that -- I’ve gotten mixed interest in that, so we’re still deciding if we are going to offer them or not…. Your input is always welcome and early registrants may have a say in the matter!!

In my effort to get a form out, I neglected a couple of items I need. I’ll change the online form momentarily. Some of you already caught my oversight, some did not:

1) I need your USPSA number, if you didn’t include it

2) If you are shooting Limited, please let me know whether you are shooting major or minor.

My bad!

Thanks.

John Bent"

Anyone know if the 100 shooter limit has been met yet?
Been shooting production for a year now and I have to admit... this sounds like fun!

We have only had 100 shooters once last year at OKCGC so I doubt it will fill up ahead of time. You should definately shoot this match then join us down at double tap ranch in June for another major match style shoot. The only difference between this match or any other major match and the monthly OKCGC matches are the increased match fee and a lot more shooting and more elaborate and exciting stages.

Alrighty... application mailed off!
So when should I start praying that I don't get last place?! :)

from John Bent the match director...

Hi Folks;

2011 Oklahoma Limited & Production Championship â€" we just had our stages approved by USPSA. 8 stages, all field courses, and the round count is just under 240. The shortest stage is 27 rounds and almost all the rest are 30+. It’ll be fun.
