i had one of those butler creek loaders for my 10/22 mags and it was a POS IMHO. I would hope black dog made some hella improvements to it for that $130.

Ok, just spoke to "Rachael" at BDM

she tells me that, as of Friday, June 10th, the status is that the metal feed lipped magazines have NOT been abandoned. They have undergone a series of changes, but that the design has been finalized.

They are awaiting parts to assemble them and ALLEGEDLY they will start shipping them no later than June 27th.

We will see if it's good news or not.

She said that "he" (presumably the boss) wants the mags done before he leaves for Alaska the 27th. He will be gone for a month or so, the impression being that if there's a mag problem, it won't be addressed until his return.

On another note, she said they've had zero returns on the glass-filled nylon mags. The smoke and clear versions account for apparenntly all the returned mags with feedlip issues.

I got the same story before you posted your conversation with Bruce. I'm not sure if anyone really knows what's going in.

I have been exchanging emails with JoeBob about replacing these mags with others and we have options for getting other mags or refunds or whatever to make us all happy with the entire situation. I thought that was a pretty stand up way to handle customer service.

JoeBob also offered to sell any of the group buy members significant discounts on stick mags if they need done ASAP for something big like High Plains. I'll call JoeBob tomorrow to get specifics.

I still get the feeling that most of you want to keep holding on for the steel lip mags?

depends on how long the wait will be. As long as the date doesn't keep geting pused back further and further, ala my Keltec ShotGun :)

I don't have my panties in a wad about this at all. I'd rather have the steel lipped mags, so if they are still coming, I can be patient. I plan on having this upper for a long time and shooting tons of ammo through it. The steel lipped mags will be the only thing to hold up with high volume shooting.

+1 here. I can wait a little more, but not forever. Good to hear that JoeBob's is standing tall, so that helps.

My two cents is if they don't ship by the end of the month we go another route.

Edit to add: If we do go end up going another route, and these BDM mags come out after, and turn out to be the awesome? It's gonna really suck!
