1911's

What Chips? The Shooting Stars are prone to problems. They make a grade higher (name escapes me) but those work well in all the guns I've used those in so far.

A few years ago Colt was sending shooting Stars with 1911's. I had one seprarate the baseplate on round two. The spot welds did not stay welded... stuff happens. I've been shooting it's twin for 10 years and it's still good to go.

First thought was the gun blew up... then I figured out why 6 cartriges were on the floor....

Shooting limited 10, I have had zero problems with Tripp Cobra, or Wilson 10 round mags.
Never had a problem with the Tac Pro 8round mags from Kimber either.
Just my opinion here, but mag malfunctions that just come on for no reason might come from being dropped on the feed lips, and getting out of tune.
We have a member on this forum that told me that he has all of the specs to properly tune a mag. I'll let him check in if he wants.

more to mag tuning than feedlips or specs. specs are only good for that particular magazine, that particular metal, and that particular follower and spring.
