Almost done with my 10/22. Ruger action, Hogue stock and Elysium Arms 16" barrel. I need to order a picatinny rail and find a scope now. I also plan to replace the polymer trigger housing and upgrading the tripper group eventually.

I had a gift ARF and bought one at PSA for $179 but I'm more fond of the target model so I converted it to a heavy barrel.

I picked one up with the spiral Ruger hammer forged barrel. From what I can read, that's the target model, correct?

I know nothing of 10-22's.....other than mine shoots exceptionally well.

I tried to find a factory target barrel with no luck. This barrel is by Elysium Arms (used to be Clarke Custom I think) and the stock is the Hogue overmolded stock. id like to get a factory target model eventually. Got pics of yours?

I tried putting a pic rail on my basic 10/22. The rail was slotted down the middle, but it still obscured the factory front sight. Point is, if you're adding a rail, plan on replacing the iron sights as well.

I went into Carolina Rod and Gun a good while back just killing some time. I inquired about the cost of a NEW 10/22 to build up into something like this and the guy told me they had this one on consignment. After some haggling, I got out of there under $400 for this one as you see it. I was satisfied. After some investigating and shooting, someone has done some work to this one. Trigger is great, has an aftermarket buffer in it, and the accupoint scope is decent at best. But it shoots exceptionally well, even with the stupid clamp on muzzle brake. I tried to remove it but the set screws that hold it on have marred the barrel's surface so I leave it on.

Well, I bought another one dammit.......now I need to find out which one I want to sell!

This one wears a Fajen custom skeletonized stock. Titanium Power Custom/Volquartsen adjustable trigger, hammer, sear, extended magazine release, extended bolt handle
Bolt hold open/auto release lever in stainless and a 21" Aluminum tension sleeve barrel. Barrel is threaded 1/2-36 and comes with a 9mm birdcage FH

Nice! Not a big fan of Fajen stocks though. I'd like to add a couple more 10/22's in different configurations one of these days. What set-up is the other one you have?

Other one is pictured above.

Luckily, this Fajen stock is one of the ones from LONG LONG ago, before they sold out to Midway. That was the only stipulation I had before remitting payment. I've heard horror stories of Fajen after Midway got them.

Oh yeah...duh. I was thinking of ordering that same muzzle device, just like the way it looks since I don't think it is really functional. Hopefully I'll be able to find a factory hammer forged barrel too. I've seen complete target models for sale but haven't been able to afford one. Is that a Fajen stock on that one?

Would it be cheaper to buy a threaded 10/22 barrel or have it threaded? any links on threaded barrels? I love the looks of the heavy barrels

My target model has the Boyd's Evolution.

The new one, with the stainless receiver, is a Fajen.

I think I'm going to sell the Boyd's/Target model.....

Well, the black came off to expose raw aluminum. So the anodizing on the silver receiver came off as well. I now have a polished 10/22 receiver and barrel. Looks killer in they glossy Fajen stock. Pics coming soon....

What did you use to polish yours? I haven't piloshed mine yet.

220/320 dry
500/600/1000 wet
#0000 steel wool and Flitz
Hand polish with Flitz and gauze pads

Still has to hit the buffing wheel when I return from vacation.
