Microtech. I had to order one.

Usual Microtech quality. Shown here in the IWB Kydex sheath that it came with.

Microtech. I had to order one.

In addition to my automatic Microtech (switchblade) I have a Karambit that Microtech made in cooperation with Bastinelli, which is a fixed blade.

Wilson Combat Knife - Elmax blade

This is also a Fox, the Mini-K. When closed is easily carried even in gym shorts. Very unobtrusive.

Wilson Combat Knife - Elmax blade

You nailed it. My guns and knives seem to be a lot more reliable than my Rolex, which I've had for years. Send it back to the company and it's great for the first month or two after I get it back and then loses about 3 minutes a week. A friend has several and says that's simply "Rolex time".

My first Shirogorov plus my other blades!

This is like what I carried when in the Marines late 50's. Great for opening C Ration cans. Better than the dinky can openers you carried on a chain with your dog tags.

    Anybody have a Randall?

I had a Ralph Bone knife a few years ago as part of my collectable group of knives. It was a Bowie and pretty cool. He put a small dog bone on the blade s his signature. Sold it for much more than I paid to a collector who bought a group of my knives. Definitely worth the trip back to get it.

    Anybody have a Randall?

I like to compare expensive knives to expensive guns, and Scotch. I have some pretty costly 1911's and have shot all of them. So were they worth the money? Yeah, I suppose so when compared to my Loveless, Johnson and a few other knives that I own that I have never used nor will ever use. Just...

Carry a Knife for Personal Defense; When will you Use it?

This Karambit is probably my favorite. Blade in only 3", double edged and purchased from Karambit. It's an Angel Fire Fu Dog and the pistol is an STI Staccato C 9mm with 3.9 " bbl.

Microtech. I had to order one.

I've had one for a number of years. Only thing I don't like about my knife is the "glass breaker" on the grip. This would prevent any kind of a push movement with the knife because it would puncture a hole in your hand. No other defensive knife that I have has such an attachment.

Carry a Knife for Personal Defense; When will you Use it?

I have a Microteach double edge automatic that I got while I was a a cop. Got a pretty good deal then and now see that one similar is $500. It has a window breaker on the end which I don't care for because it prevents stabling movements without gouging your hand. In my state double edge are...

Carry a Knife for Personal Defense; When will you Use it?

I'm no longer carrying a badge, so any time I carry one of my Karambit's am probably going to get a bit more attention than I want, and confiscation is always a risk. But for that reason I actually carry one, hoping that the sight of such a nasty weapon would discourage further aggression. And...

Carry a Knife for Personal Defense; When will you Use it?

When I was working in law enforcement as a police officer I always carried a knife, clipped in my strong side pocket, as did most officers. Usually it was an automatic (S&W or Microtech) but always a folder. Since studying Kali for a few years I have come to realize that a fixed blade knife...
