    What 1911 brands to avoid?

That's a '71 Demon with later model 360 Magnum. One thing about slant 6's, you can't kill 'em! On another note, I have a few Sig 1911's. They've been great pistols.

    What 1911 brands to avoid?

That's exactly what I bought. Love it, but I'd recommend a cheaper used one or another brand.

    What 1911 brands to avoid?

Lots of great info above. If you're buying new, I think warranty and customer service should be major considerations when choosing a brand. I recently had a very bad customer service experience with Rossi on a lever action. I think they are a subsidiary of Taurus. So, they are out of...

Anyone use NRA carry gun belts?

I have a Hanks gun belt and another that I can't remember the name of. They are good belts, but very utilitarian. I'm looking for something to wear with a suit or casual wear. NRA has some that look decent. Anyone use them? Thanks!

MAGAZINES 1911A1.... WHAT IS BEST ???

I've used a bunch over the years, lots of good ones, Mecgar, Chip McCormick, Wilson Combat, Ed Brown. Other than the stock mag that came with the pistols, I use mostly Ed Brown. That's because they had a special a couple years ago to trade in old mags for theirs. So, I gathered up all my no-name...

Great deal on AR-15 pistol or rifle complete lowers

Wow, wish I'd seen that earlier!

Do you typically carry a reload

Like the guy above said, depends on what I'm doing. Typically, if just running errands locally, no spare mag. If going outside the local area, then probably 2. The next question is, do you have a car/truck gun? I may or may not keep a shotgun/rifle in a locked safe in my vehicle at times. I...

Is it just me or is the original configuration of the 1911 A1 still comfortable as is to others as practical user package?

I shoot my stock 1911 and 1911a1 the same. The newer fancier ones are nice, but I don't shoot them any better than the stock ones.

    TAYLORS & COMPANY M1911 A1 9MM PISTOL 5" 10RD, BLACK - 56670

As a 1911 fan, I ordered one of their old school 1911's to compare to my GI 1911a1. I put around 100 rounds thru it. It shot great. Certainly not a long term test, but for the money, I think they are a good buy. Armscor (RIA) has been around awhile and make decent pistols. My 2 cents.

    Newby from Georgia checking in!

Howdy Y'all! I've loved the 1911 since getting a Gold Cup as a kid circa 1978. My dad kept it for me until I got older. I officially took possession after a little vacation courtesy of Uncle Sam. I still have that one, and a few different ones now. Probably my favorite hand gun, but I love all...
