I'm not trying hijack this thread, but I'm also looking at compensators and your answer to me may also help dfinin. Does anyone have experience with the Smith Enterprise Good Iron comp? I'm also looking at the JP comp.
I'd take a free STI regardless of caliber. My wife and I both shoot 9mm and .40 but my S&W CORE and her Glock 34 are both 9mm. I'd be happy to have a .40 comp gun.
On the speed shooters specialties ESP base pads it said :
Requires the use of the old style retainer plate with the round pin, SSS part number 1910. 1 base pad per package.

The title says it all. I need some magazines. Would prefer new, but will consider excellent condition used magazines for prices appropriate for their condition. If anyone has mags with esp base pads or Taran tactical 140mm extensions, that would be a real bonus.

Mora Knife #2. It is really inexpensive at about $15. It is sharp (stays sharp well) makes great sparks with sparking devices, and will cut 3" trees with baton. It is inexpensive enough you can have several. Remember, two is one and one is none. Buy a couple and have some cash left over to buy...
I was looking at mag extensions at speed shooter specialties and really like the Taran Tactical extensions. One question... It looks as though they require the old style retainer plate with the round hole. My mags have the square hole located to the rear. Can I just buy the complete mag...
That was my thought process when buying mine. Ability to switch, longer sight radius with iron sights, and also important, the feel and balance in hand. The 5" feels better to me than the 4.24".
