Yes, that is correct. The original box is marked as SS. From what I've read, Severns Hard Hat treatment is exceptionally durable. Sounds like the process is similar to DW's Duty Treatment.

The S&W 1911 forum isn't getting any love. Here's my E-Series. I got it several months ago but still haven't taken it to the range. I generally prefer the plainer looks of my DW's, but something about the fish scales drew me in.

Thanks for the info, WWB. I've heard great things about Keith and DW's customer service. The color of the trigger is not something that bothers me and in my mind it's not something that would even merit an inquiry. I know it would drive some people crazy and while I may have a touch of OCD...

Interesting observation from the picture thread. It looks like most of the Valkyries have a black trigger and going back to the Dan Wesson website shows that a black trigger is spec'd. I bought mine factory new on GunBroker and it came with a silver trigger. Not that it really matters to me...
