OP you can certainly tune a Norinco to be a fun range gun. As an EDC, why? There are so many better options that I would rather bet my life on.

+1 Mike Galway You can also shoot a lighter 4.0 TG for plinking. Good case seal. No soot. Very accurate for target shooting. Likewise 5.0 - 5.5 Unique.

Got fascinated by my new lever gun. Didn't shoot the 1911 for a month. First time back...Ouch! Had to go back to the range the next day to be sure I really had not lost all pistol shooting ability. LOL Practice often is not just a slogan.

Sadly many non-custom pistols come out with POI#POA. I had a RIA 1911 45acp that shot that same pattern out of the box. Moved rear. Filed front. Bingo. Great range gun.
