The 7 People You Don't Want On Your Squad

Add to the list "Brass Scavengers". The guys at local matches who are pecking at every piece of brass, while the rest of the squad is resetting the stage. (If they are returning what they picked up to the shooter that just shot, that's a different story all together. These are the guys that...

    Join or Not

No, but that would be kind of funny.... The point I was trying to make was that, if you are outside your normal stomping grounds, (because your wife wanted to visit her cousins, halfway across the country, and you found a local club that is hosting a match while you are "out visiting") being...

If you travel much and want to shoot some local matches at clubs you have never been to, having that current classification provides assurance to the match organizers that you know what you are doing. It may save you from having to attend their safety orientation for newbies.

How did you pick your pistol?

Started with a Sig P220 because that is what I had at the time when I discovered USPSA. Tried variety of pistols and revolvers over the years. My current Production gun is a CZ75 SP-01.

    School me on CZs

Are you ever up in KC area? I've been shooting Production with a Std SP01 with comp hammer at local matches.

    School me on CZs

Sorry about the little cryptic post earlier. The original CZ75s had short dust cover frame and no firing pin block. When they added the firing pin block system, they rebranded the guns as CZ75B. It is an additional mechanism that lifts a lever as the trigger is pulled. This lever unblocks the...

    School me on CZs

Shadow and 85 Combat do not have series 80 style firing pin block. Neither do the early model 75s. Current production 75B has the block. You have to keep the block mechanism installed to comply with Production Division rules. If you are seriously considering, suggest you also look at the CZ...

    9mm vs .40 S&W

Pick your Division, then select your gun & ammo. Limited - Most shoot some flavor of 2011 in .40. You can get into it with a Glock, XDM or M&P preferably in .40. Something that you can get a 140 mm mag or extenders that will allow you to stuff 19+ rounds. L-10 - you still want .40 for major...
