I use the small ELS for my holster and have for years without issue other than adapting the fork to my various holsters.
With the Springer Precision holster hangar (he makes the BOSS) you can get a backplate designed for the small ELS fork, easy peasy.
I would (and have) go with the Savage GRS. YES...I work for Savage, but the rifle is half minute capable and the stock is
push button adjustable and...it can be had for about 11 or 1,200 bucks. (MSRP 1449)

The Nordic's are very, very nice and locally the S&W MP15-22 rule the roost for reliability.
I have been running the Savage A22 and I think it kicks 10-22 butt out of the box...it does not
need a new barrel, new trigger or new stock.
10-22's have been on the market a long time and have a pile...
