A Gunners Future. Buy, Sell, or Trade?

No kids. I told my wife that if I go before her she should donate all my guns that she doesn't want to the NRA for their fund raising auctions. She won't need the money from selling them so this is an easy way to get rid of them without the hassle of dealing with individual buyers, etc. It's...

Dan Wesson absent from your list. Might want to take a look at them.

    Help me justify TRP

I've had my stainless 45 TRP for years, shot thousands of rounds and think it's a great gun. I shot bowling pin matches with it (and won a few). Very accurate and 100% reliable with both factory & my hand loads. I also really like the 20 lpi checkering...keeps the gun from moving around in a...

    Gunsmithing Tools

You don't say whether you're plan to work only on your own guns or whether you'd also like to work on other peoples guns and maybe make a few bucks for your efforts. What a lot of people don't know is that unless you're just going to be "smiffin" for yourself on your own guns, according to...

Disassembled Glock Pistol For First Time.....

Big 1911 fan but I've seen more failures of 1911's in competition than I've ever seen with Glocks. And there's usually 3-4x more Glocks being shot than 1911's. Might be heresy, but if I could only have one pistol, it would be damn tough to get rid of my Glock 17...

    Garage find today..

My grandfather had an old country general store. As a kid I remember him selling a 50 rnd box of .22lr for $0.25. He said he remembered when it was a dime but prices had gone way up!

Need to decide. PLEASE help me make the RIGHT decision!

I personally wouldn't worry one iota about a plastic trigger. A light weight trigger allows you to have a lighter trigger pull without getting trigger bounce. Not uncommon to find them in competition pistols where shooters are trying for sub two pound trigger pull.

    Dan Wesson sights

I'm a big fan of u-notch rear sights. Faster to get on target and for me more accurate, easier to get front sight centered in the U than to get equal amounts of light on each side like in a square notch. I used this gun to shoot bowling pins and find the transitions to be much faster than a...

    Dan Wesson sights

I put a Dawson Precision fiber optic on the front of my DW Specialist and a Wilson Combat U-notch battle sight on the rear. Love the combination. I don't recall the height and am traveling now so I can't measure, but I do remember having to buy a 2nd front sight because the first one was...

Less than $1000 out of the box with best trigger

I have a Dan Wesson Specialist in 9mm and an STI 9mm 2011 race gun. Both have sub 2 lb triggers and I shoot both of them much better than my other 1911's with heavier triggers. For me, a light trigger makes a big difference in accuracy - maybe I need more work on trigger control but I shoot a...

    Stalked today!

Cotton mouth snakes are very aggressive. I've had them try to come in the boat with me while frog gigging in the bayous of La. We used to always carry "snake shot" shot shells in .38 revolvers! You're right, they work well to dispatch 'em.

    USCCA

My comment about flooding e-mail inboxes wasn't a criticism, just just an observation based on experience. "johnholiday" above apparently experienced the same thing and said he viewed it as a negative. An aggressive e-mail marketing doesn't mean they aren't "legit", if that's what you thought...

Have any used / for sale guns EVER had more than “200 down the tube”?

Bought an STI 2011 9mm open gun advertised as having >10,000 rounds through it. I've put at least 10K through it & it functions flawlessly. On the other hand, I bought a Dan Wesson 9mm 1911 advertised as having only "a couple boxes" through it and was being sold because "it is too big and...
