Dawson makes a tool less guide rod for those applications. Similar in function to current setup, but you don’t need any tools. I have them in several guns and they work well and none have failed. Might be an option for you.

My two at the moment are a Bob Rodgers build of any sort and a Springfield Pro with serial number CRG 3674. Can’t afford either at the moment even if I found them unfortunately.

I should have a host model in my hands in the next month or so. Looking forward to it.

Also, they aren’t shipping with those grips yet. All of the current production staccato p guns are shipping with the tree bark tactical grip. They are still working on the material for the grip to get it a little more grippy.

They also make the host version, already cut for a dot. It’s adds 500 to the price. I have 21k through a tactical (exact same gun but with different serrations). It has been awesome and is the easiest gun I own to shoot accurate. If you have any specific questions, I’d be happy to answer.

My flight to New Hampshire was canceled because of this cold weather. It had a layover in Chicago. Hard to tell what you guys are going through for the weather, being 70 and sunny here

Just in the process of installing a Chen Maxbevel on my test springer. It’s coming along nicely, but I still have some tool marks to clean up. The round butt blended up nicely.

I have one on a Glock. I would not recommend for a carry gun. It washes out in a darkened environment, especially with a back lit object. For that reason, Trijicon also does not recommend them for duty or carry use.

I too am a fan of red dots on carry guns. Here is a picture of one of mine on a 1911. I’ve found that using the same draw stroke and presentation as with irons leads to the fastest dot pick up speed for me. The learning curve wasn’t as steep as I expected, it was actually a fairly easy transition.
