    Colt Combat Commander roll marks

And then a 2007 with new stocks on it. And for grins an all steel Commander made in 1991 with again new grips on it.

    Colt Combat Commander roll marks

They usually call them a pre 80 series Commanders if made before about 1983 when the series 80 mechanical firing pin safety was installed. Below my 1980 which I have done some work on.

    Colt Gold Cup National Match

Have about 20 Colt Gold Cups from 1966 to 2018. Below Gold Cups from 1988 and 1990 The 1988 is a GCNM MkIV Series 80 and the 1990 is a Delta Gold Cup. Lovely pistols and I replaced the wrap around rubber grips with wood stocks.

For anyone thinking of getting into reloading...

It does let one create rounds one can not buy. Below in 45ACP with our good old 230gr FMJ on the left. Now in the calculation is ones time counted at say even minimum wage in the costs? Right now in handgun land I only reload 44 Mag, 45 Colt, 357 Mag, 10mm, and 38 Super. In the future if...

    Colt vs Springfield

Do not have either. Of my 4 1911 10mm variants, two are DW, one is a Ruger and one is a 1990 Colt Delta Gold Cup. Do have a number of SA 1911s in 45ACP and 9mm, and lots of Colts so some thoughts are.... The Colt has the Series 80 mechanical firing pin safety I think. The Colt does not...

Springfield Armory LIke to find out some information related to my 1911

Who made it would be good info. Also what caliber and the model if you know it. The only thing that comes close in my shooty collection is a SA Range Officer made in 2014 that has a serial number of NM333xxx. Maybe some model of SA then?

Show off some of your favorite revolvers!

I like SA Convertible revolvers. Here are a couple, both Ruger Blackhawks. One a 10mm/40S&W and the other a 357/9mm. I have several 45Colt/45ACP convertibles. One example is the Ruger/Lipsey flat top below.

    Colt 1911 Gold Cup ❤️

Nice shooting. I'll have to get my 2018 GCT Lite in 38 Super (top) out and shoot it next to my 2015 GCT in 45ACP (which I put new stocks on) on the same day.

    Springfield's 3 position hammer

The SA 3 position hammer is sort of unusual. Below on top is a Colt hammer with the quarter shelf. Know you have that if you pull the hammer back and it stays but drops when you pull the trigger which does not happen with a half cock position. In the middle a Colt hammer with a half cock. On...

Springfield Armory Springfield Range Officer for first 1911?

I have had a .45 since 2014 and a 9mm since early 2015. They are nice pistols for the money.

If you were buying your first 1911

I still tell friends look at Ruger SR1911s and SA, esp the Range Officers. For a first 1911 a traditional 5 inch with a traditional barrel and bushing is nice. Also no mechanical firing pin systems. If you, a relative, or good friend know about buying used 1911s then it really opens up your...

    The Superb 38 Pic thread!

The rather new Gold Cup Trophy Lite in 38 Super looks nice. I love mine I bought in the fall of 2018. Below it is with my 2015 GCT in 45 ACP. Below it is field stripped. It does have a double recoil spring and a non metallic MSH. Minor points and easily changed but they are there. It...

    40 S&W in 1911

One could put a new barrel in a 10mm and with probably new springs and new mags one could shoot both calibers. Colt made some models in 40 S&W years ago but from what I understand they never sold well. They even made an Elite 10/40 with both barrels; now a collector.

This one or that one - another Colt vs Kimber thread

Have both brands and of the two would go with a Colt but examine before you buy. Too bad you can't afford a DW. They are nice. Also Ruger makes the SR1911-CMD in all steel and I think they are nice for the money.
