Just picked up a Colt rail gun from a friend. Probably less than 1000 through it. Everything feels good except the thumb safety. When it is depressed to disengage it gets "squishy" right before it reaches "bottom". It has a firm bottom when mashing through that last bit of squishy.
Never felt that before in a 1911. The only mods to this gun are installation of an S&A magwell, which I did for the previous owner who bought it new. It was drop in. The gun has a firing pin safety but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it. I have had other Series 80's and not seen this in any of them.
