Needing some input on my next AR build

Okay, so now that I have another lower on the way, I'm thinking I should build a low mass/low recoil gun.

Here is what I have in mind:

BCM Upper (I already have this in the spare pile)

DPMS 18" Medium weight barrel(Rifle length gas system) - I've built 2 rifles with this barrel and they are tac drivers, only costs $180. If you know of a better barrel that has some weight and a rifle length gas system, I'm all ears!

PRI low profile adjustable gas block - Does anyone know if this will fit under the Troy 15" TRX FF Battle Rail?

NC Corvette Muzzle Brake

TROY 15" TRX FF Battle Rail

OR

JP 15.5" VTAC Modular FF Tube

JP Low mass bolt carrier

JP Low mass buffer

LPK, Match Trigger, and Pistol Grip are already covered.

I'm pretty sure I have to have a full length stock with full length buffer tube.

Would this ACE skelton buttstock work, and do I have to buy a full length buffer tube separate?

In have not tried it but my PRI gas blocks are just as small as all the low profile standard gas blocks I've seen. It should fit just about anywhere.

The wonderful JP low mass BCG can be run with their low mass rifle buffer or with a standard carbine buffer. The two buffers weigh the same.

If you buy the ACE ARFX you have to purchase a full length buffer tube in addition to their stock.
 
DPMS makes a 20" rifle length gas barrel (BL-10) which is accurate beyond it's $160 price tag. You'd get more velocity and a shorter barrel isn't really important on a game gun.

There are better comps out there than the Nordic Corvette. It's also one of the harsher sounding comps I've been around.

Cole Rogers was telling me that he was playing with one trying to turn the gas all the way off so it would be a single shot on a suppressed gun, but it still cycled the bolt even after they turned the screw all the way in.

I was just going to ask if you are satisfied with your PRI gas blocks? I don't know if there are different models, but this is the one I was looking at.

If I used a standard carbine buffer, would I be able to use a collapsible butt-stock buffer tube? I would most definitely use a CTR if that is the case. And couldn't I take the weight out of the buffer to lighten it even more?

You don't really need to lighten it any more, but I've never opened one up to see what's inside.

I like my rolling thunder, I really liked it after I opened the top port up to the next drill bit size.

You're not shooting across the course with this gun, 1.5-2 MOA is plenty for 3 gun and practical rifle matches, ergo my suggestion for cheap but good barrels.
 
CTR requires a carbine buffer and the tube they fits them will be fine. Just make sure you get the carbine spring too.

First of all Cole Rogers is gay and an idiot. If he vant turn iff his gas with am adjustable gas block Something must be stopping the Adjustment screw from bottoming out. Did I mentio that Cole was gay? LMFAO!!! J/K. Cole isn't an idiot.

Now that we are squared away there. I only have one PRI gas block on my LOKI rifle and I haven't messed with it much. I actually just set the gas on it this week. I am about to get a JP block of similar configuration this week on my new JP upper. I'm anxious to compare the two. I am also pissed I didn't know that Midway stocked them. I could have used coupon codes on the two I just bought direct. The two new ones are going on my new Stag rifles. I'm gonna set those up with adjustable gas after Rocky Mountain and AR15.com 3 gun.

Yep, the PRI blocks are tiny.

SJC Titan or Rolling Thunder are the heat.

I'd take the TRX Exteme, it's is a lot lighter.

Got my SJC Titan attached to my current 18" upper (Same DPMS 18" barrel as in the list above, LaRue Low profile gas block and, DD BCG, SS-15 Midwest Ind. Hand Guard) I attached it on this upper because my parts won't ship in time for 3-gun.

Holy Crap!!! What a difference!!! I'm not even moved off target at 100 yards.

I already have most of the new build together (the barrel, upper, and got the JP adjustable gas block instead) I'm waiting on the JP Low mass BC, and the Troy Hand guard.

I compared these two uppers, huge difference. Then I shot my carbine. I'm surprised I did as well as I did last match. I can't believe the difference in recoil!!!

Anyways I got my dope for the EOTech and ACOG on my upper that currently has the SJC.

I'm ready for my Low mass and hand guard and some Kick ass 3-gun.
 
Ah the moment of enlightenment. I still don't understand why casual shooters don't use comensators more. I know they are loud but they are so much more fun from a shooters standpoint.

It wasn't really an option when I shot competitively in the Guard. I was used to shooting the M16 with Iron sights and you can't modify anything. You don't really get all of the running and gunning at the Winston P. Wilson Matches that you get in Action Shooting Matches. Most everything was at set distances, 600, 500, 400, 300 . . . etc . . . with time limits in certain shooting positions.


I won't be changing my other AR's from their A2 flash hiders (unless I get a suppressor), but I am certainly a fan of a compensator on my AR for 3 gun.

Ok I am getting the Loki lower but on a upper I seen at C.H.A. is a Yankee Hill Machine Diamond 16 in is this a good one for 3 gun or is there another I should look at you guys tell me what to get and I will buy it
 
I'm currently looking at the carbon fiber handgaurds that Loki has on their website. I have a Clark on my rifle now that is showing signs of resin melting this summer. The Loki offering is vented and even more appealing, bolts to a mil-spec barrel nut rather than having to be glued on. The price is reasonable as well. I need to call those guys and get this hooked up.
