I need to pawn my handgun and was wondering if anyone here has had experience in doing this? I am only needing money until my paycheck on Thursday, so I will be getting it out quickly. Is there anything special I need to do besides make sure it is empty when taking it in?

Ive been in your shoes before. From my experience take it to Sooner State Pawn and talk to Tommy. His interest rate is lower than anywhere else I have checked, and he is a good guy to work with

It wont matter if you get it out in one week or 30 days. The interest you pay in $ amount will be the same.

Just bring it there empty, and don't bring anything that isn't attached to the gun (i.e. nice grips, magazines, etc.) If you have the stock grips, put them on. Don't want them vanishing. Take a picture of the gun and accessories before you hand them to the Pawn Shop and make sure you get a detailed receipt. Just be cautious. Better safe than sorry :)

Yep. I have never pawned a gun, but a friend did. His grips were changed out while they had it, but know one knew how. I would take several pics and I would take a couple pics with my phone in front of them. It will protect you and them both. I am not saying that all pawn shows are bad, but I have heard some stories about a few.

Go to Sooner State Pawn and tell him you are a member of BoomerShooter and wanted to thank him for being a site sponsor. ..................and take pictures of your gun

If you're going to take pics of it, do it at the store, on top of the counter with the ticket or something like that. Pics before hand would prove nothing, they'd only show what you say you pawned.

Wow, very good tips! I was going to go to Sooner State Pawn, but a friend is going to let me borrow the money and I am going to let him borrow the gun. Pretty much pawning with a friend I guess. Thank you for all of the information, though.
