I have heard that the Brownell's mags are pretty good and well I'm going to need to be purchasing some mags here soon so I thought I would ask if you guys had any dealings with them.

I'm not tacticool by any means, I just want something that's going to work, it doesn't have to be THE best or have cool names I just want it to work. Let me know your thoughts but if you haven't had first hand experience please don't tell me what you have read someplace. Thanks fella's! Later,

Kirk

I've used them. They are pretty good, in other words no complaints. I prefer Pmags, but these are just fine.

Brownell's shipping charges are archaic, like their business model. You should get some PMAGs from Midway, or Cold Hand Arms locally. PMAGs are awesome, and a lot of us (all maybe?) use them. They are also fairly cheap, especially the non-windowed ones.

I had been hearing the Brownell's were good and just thought I would ask to get opinions. I'll have to do some searching and get my favorites back up since they seem to have gone away :angry: now I just need a day when I get home from work that I can keep my eyes open, it's been freakin' hot the last couple of weeks. Later,

Kirk

A co-workers son is currently serving in the sand pile as a platoon level SAW operator. He kept having FTL issues with issued mags. Randy ordered and sent 2dz of brownells mags to him, and his loading problems went away.
Crying shame civilians have to supplement mil issued gear when they are in harms way.

PMAGs = overrated.

They can be overinserted, they don't drop free in a whole bunch of lowers, and they DO break.

Anyway...Brownells mags are pretty good, but most milspec mags are too.

^Yep - This includes my assertion that Brownells mags work. I own ten of them and have had zero issues.

Bravo Co. usually has pretty good deals on bulk GI mags of the DHI and Okay variety (these mags even work, despite claims to the contrary). Check out 44mag.com, too. You can even catch good deals on these mags with the MagPul anti-tilt followers for very little more than the regular mags. Or you can buy the followers from Joe Bob.

+1 for Joebob Outfitters. Their prices are really good, shipping for a order over $90 is free, the free shirt is cool and the customer service is for sure top notch.

If you are like me and don't really need a whole lot of stuff and refuse to pay $12 (the cost of another mag) for shipping, then just hit up some of your buddies and see if they feel like going in on the buy with you. And once you tell them that you can get them windowed P Mags for about $14.50 they will be all over it.

Brownell's mags are great! If you order from them tell them to drop them in a flat rate box and just mail them. Brownells will ship any way you want. They also give tens of thousands of dollars of stuff to 3-gun prize tables all accross the U.S. every year...how is that not supporting us? KurtM
