transporting long guns on motorcycle

Why don't you buy a POS truck and carry it in the back window? It would do wonders for the Redneck image you ate trying so hard to cultivate.

You're just jealous of my tat. And you clearly haven't visited my facebook page lately. There is a wonderful video on there, but I'm not sure how to show it elsewhere.

Damn. That would have been nice. but it has sold already. And even if I bought it, I'd still build the bike gun rack. I couldn't imagine something better than a bike and guns combined. Its like if a girls butt had boobs, except that doesn't sound sexy at all now that I type it.

I just thought of something better on what I drew up. Instead of bolts do a peg and pin setup kind of like a tractor bolt

It would be a setup where the mounting bracket on the bike has a piece of pipe maybe 1.25" outside diameter stickin out 2" and the hard bag mounting plate had pipe of 1" outside diameter or whatever fits inside the bikes mounting pipe outside diameter stickin out 1.75" and a hole drilled through both so that when the bag was mounted you could use one of these

to secure the whole thing and still not have to use tools to remove your firearms

I didn't describe what I was trying to say very well, but imagine the same way a reciever hitch works on a pickup with the 2 pieces of tubing just fitting inside each other and being pinned for the mount.

Here is something I came up with. This is something that would be permanetly attached, but is simple and small enough to not be in the way.

This drawing was done with my laptop, so it looks like elephant dung this just gives an idea

The Red is a luggage rack,
Yellow is a AR15
Blue is the actual place the gun would mount, a piece of angle Iron that is welded close on the end, mounted to the swing arm, or can mount in the place of the passanger pegs. Then another piece of angle iron mounted to the luggage rack. The bottom piece that is welded close will keep the rifle from dropping down, then the angle iron acts like a channel, for the rifle to rest on.
Purple is some sort of soft strap. The purple is by the blue, I didnt realize the colors are similar

This is just one idea, this would be very easy to do, and you wouldn't have to install and remove a bracket whenever you transport a rifle.

First of all, I would prefer (if at all possible) removable gun racks so that I can attach some other type of luggage or ride naked when need be. Also, I do occasionally need the cat lady pegs. My only other concern with that drawing is that blue angle iron on the swing arm. When the swing arm moves up and down, would the gun not move with it?

Yes it would. I didnt think about suspension.

The only thing that I cant get past, is weight. To make good, strong rack it wont be light, then add guns yo make it even heavier.

Turning is where my concern is, you would barly have to lean to turn with that extra weight. Also on the right side, the rack will go outside of the exhaust. We will have to make sure that the bike can turn right without dragging the rack.

Weight isn't an issue for me. I'm a commuter, not a sport rider. And when I'm carrying guns even more so.
