transporting long guns on motorcycle

I used to ride and own a motorcycle, but it only lasted one year in Oklahoma - then I realized that this state is not made for motorcycles.

Golden. Can we get a mod to put this under his avatar?   I'm just kidding JP. You're going to be so jealous if I actually do this. You'll likely sell your car and make a similar rack to carry your AK.

I will have nothing to do with making an AK rack. lol

Justin. Included is a picture of my bikes grab handle. The rack would have to attach in place of this, but it wouldn't be a problem as it would be screwed directly into the sub-frame. From there, I picture a small luggage rack with a detachable gun holder on each side. Doable? I'd make it worth your while ;) If so, what days would be best for you? And where is the best place to get supplies?

It is kinda doable, the problem will be on the right side of the bike, the exhaust is in the way. It can be extended to the outside of the exhaust, but then it will put weight to far away from the wheels and the bike will be harder to keep balanced. Also I am not sure if there are any laws, that would keep you from putting something that far off of the bike.

Are you wanting the gun rack's removable? as in only putting them on when you transport long guns? You would want to get a couple hard rifle cases, if you put just the rifle on a steel rack, it will mess up the finish.

What kind of bike is it? I can look up the deminisions if I know the year make and model.

it is a 2004 honda 599. There is no law about having things hanging out away from the bike. i.e. saddlebags. My plan is to have the gun rest on one of THESE or something similar. The two ATV gun racks will be attached to a piece of steel that will detach from the bike via two bolts. I am always open to input from more experienced fabricators (anyone).

I bet you could build it for a couple hundo. Looks to me like some square tubing and a wheel off a small bike out of the scrapyard. Could use it to carry more than guns also.

I'll have to refer to my welder about this. But this could be very promising.

Its not CAD, but here is a rough idea of how I'm wanting to carry the guns. One like this on each side of the bike.

The red is the rack and the green is the gun.
