Carrygun Match THIS Sunday, May 1st

it was nice meeting a bunch of new shooters.... i think everyone needs a nametag that says "my name on boomer shooter is _______"
How about everyone changes their BoomerShooter name to their real name??? That would make it a lot easier.

My first Match! WOW what a blast. Haven't had butterflies in the stomach like that in a very long time. Now I fully understand all the talk about muscle memory, cause when the buzzer went off and I began I couldn't tell ya what I did technique wise, it just happened.

Great to meet fellow Shooters and forum members.

I'm still pumped!

Steve

Glad you made it out Steve. Check out the match list for more excitement. There is a match or 4 every weekend in Oklahoma.

If you don't think its important to shoot a consistent match all the way through and that one bad stage doesn't matter, think again.

Stage 3: RT 30.32, D 5, M 6, NS 2, Total penalty 59, Stage time 89.32

OUCH!

Yeah kinda sucks when your RT is doubled by penalty seconds. Mine came in stage 3 RT22.98 PS 21 TSS 43.98

At least you aren't leading the ShortBus Division!

Ek ;)

Yep, lost my head on 3 also. Practically trippled my raw time with penalties. Glad I'm in good company :D .

Glad everyone enjoyed the match. It's always great to see new shooters giving it a try. They always enjoy it and they always come back, keeping matches like these going and growing.

Folks said they liked Stage 4 where you backed up while shooting. What other stage elements would you like to see?

I'm guessing that's why walking the stage or going from station to station and pretending to shoot it is so important. I did this on stage three, it didnt help me shoot it well but i did remember to shoot strong hand only. I think i would have forgot if i hadn't done this.

i think people just like movement in general.... if you remember the stage that you backed up and then went to one knee and then "kind of prone", that stage was a big hit.. i think everyone goes to the matches (like OKCGC, H&H) with the same basic targets, etc.. so having some movement that is something different is welcome... also, i think a triple swinger with a no shoot (judging from the times) was too much for some people.. so far the best match IMO, was the one with the stages where we knocked over broom shot the guy in the head that had the hostage and the target that came towards you, then one knee, then prone... also people always like field pickups... i would gladly let you use one of my guns for it if needed..

THIS!!!!!!! more people need to walkthroughs... there were way too many procedurals that could have been fixed with a quick walkthrough (nate i am looking at you!! :))

I need to have stages with shorter distances - I can't see past 5 yards anymore - even with corrective lenses on - unless we figure out how to add more light in the place!
