1st you load the magazine tube all the way up.
2nd you pull the bolt back about 2/3 - 3/4 if the way.
3rd you stuff a round under the bolt. It is easiest for to get the round under the bolt when I stick the brass end in first because its the part that gets hung up on the bolt.
4th with the shell on the lifter and the bolt 2/3 - 3/4 back you stuff another round up into the chamber.
5th you release the bolt and your running 8 + 1 + 1.

Does that mean you have to shoot them all out if mag and the ghost before you are able to reload???

No. After you shoot once, the ghost load goes in, and the rest stay in the tube. I tried it a few times with my 930 POS I mean 930 SPX and that's how it worked.

Just to clear this up for everyone (me), when and where is this legal for 3 gun?

For 3 gun, if your tube holds 8 and you're not shooting open it isn't useful.

If you have a Benelli for HD it gets you one more shell than your tube will hold without keeping one in the chamber. Just skip step 4 above.

I think (have to ask Kurt here) that in some matches (SOF maybe) you used to be able to load all you wanted as long as the tube didn't extend a certain distance past the muzzle. Which is where he got the idea for soldering the LM choke in that ancient M1 of his, per the rules it extended the barrel and got him a 9 round tube, plus one in the chamber, plus one on the carrier for 11 total. I may be talking out my butt here, get him or maybe Pinto to verify this before you believe it.

The SLP won't do this, shells will sling out of the tube and onto the carrier when you retract the bolt enough to get another one on the lifter. If there's a way to do it I couldn't figure it out when I had mine, if you figure it out by all means post it up.

6th impale your thumb with the bolt

This also might have a application for duck hunters where the magazine has to be plugged to two rounds. At least until the game wardens finally figure it out. I have had a M1 for 15 years, and until I started talking to the 3-gun people this year, no one i ever talked to knew what I was talking about.

After the second explanation I understand how it works and then I find out I have to modify the bolt on my M2, great...more money I don't have to spend on gear and ammo.

You can do it yourself with a file. You just have to take a little bit of material off.

Well That would have helped the last time I shot so I wouldn't keep letting the bolt close on my finger when I said yeah I think I know how to do a ghost load
