Custom Accurate Iron 2011

I am having Mike upgrade my competiton pistols to custom built 2011 STI's. He is working on a 9mm for 3 gun and .40 S&W for USPSA. The 9mm will get abused in 3 gun so the finish is proabbly going to be dark. The .40 will spend most of its life in my holster and hand so it could be prettier.

I need some suggetions on what I want it to look like. I don't like the full dust cover guns. I also want some lightening cuts or holes or something cool. bear in mind that I suck and the only way I will get noticed is to have the coolest gun at the match so this thing has to be sweet. Here are some pics of the finish I like for the 9mm possibly.

You're probably looked at IonBond, but it freakin looks sweet polished, satin, and matte.

Those gold barrels are sweet looking. We need to find away to top that look! I can't have no infinity looking better than my AI.

I say that black chrome finish with the gold barrel, trigger & safeties. Bling that cat lady out!!!!!!

I have just been thinking I need a another 2011 in 9mm for 3-gun, cheap practice, & steel. I need to start having Mikey buy me parts but I kinda want to wait to see if I can luck into some of that contingency money.

I'm with you on the full length dust cover. Before you decide on the slide work you need to shoot several mags through mine and Chris's.

I don't know what it is about SV slides, but they are just sexy!!

Chambers,you can try my Triangle Shooting Sports 6" Fat Free when I return to "southland", I'll be home around the 5th of April.

Jesse, we Ion-Bonded Mike Darby's 9mm. we polished the sides of the slide mirror bright and blasted the rest, it looks cool and has kept looking cool for 3 years now hardly any wear marks at all!......but Mike is right...it WILL look like he decides to make it look. I see a lot of Benny here! :lol:

Is that the gun you have with you? I need to take a closer look at it f it is.
