I had a lot of interest in those 6 shot shell caddies I had for sale. Anybody interested in a group buy on caddies?

I'm down. I'd need to know how many I need to feed the shotty during a match. As in how many rounds would a stage consume? This is a sad face for me, especially since reading about the guy who posted about himself and another competitor having a bag full of Choate units.

I think the mountain are the best. I run 6 of those and two choates for the big shotgun stages.

Red Neck Tactical advocates carrying enough ammo on your belt to shoot a stage. The 9 rounds in your gun are extra. So most stages are 20 rounds or less, 17-18 actually. So 5 four round caddies are all you need. You can borrow from your buddies for the big stages. The choates are so cheap you gotta buy a couple just cause.

Jesse, I like the looks of those 6 round APcustom caddies you posted the other day. Might be another good option to look at?

I'd be interested in the 4 rounders. Hell, if you worked out a Choate 6 rounder buy I'd probably buy several more of those, too. They work great.

i am new to all this so it seems like it would be easier (doing the off hand reload) to just be able to grab 4 and reload.. why would you want 6 or what is the argument for 4 vs. 6

It does lessen the likelihood of you accidentally grabbing 5, but the 6's work fine. It's nice having the two extra in there if you run your gun dry at the end of a stage or something and you just want to grab one or two. There's nothing "slow" about the 6's, IMO.

If you practice your reloads down around 6 seconds it doesn't matter how many your caddies hold. ;) I think it's ridiculous how much some of those caddies cost...

In all the vids I've watched on Shotgun loading, I've never seen anyone grab more than 4, doesn't mean it can't be done, just saying I've not seen it. But I've not seen them grab from a 4 rnd caddy faster than a 6 either, then you still have 2 left. The 6's are bigger (obviously) so they may get in your way while squating or bending during a stage. I don't know the answer, but I can see advantages to both.

I have 3 choates but wouldn't mind picking up a few more & a couple 4 rounders. Most 4 rounders I've seen are crazy expensive (like ~50). I'd probably spend the $ for them, but wouldn't be as excited as getting the choates for $.

I like the six rounders because I can manipulate 3 shells at time pretty easily and two 3 round grabs appeals to my sense of symetry. I don't like six round caddies because I'm fat and they are relatively tall making some movement a little tough as Wall stated. I'd like to try the 3 or 4 round caddies because as a fat guy I've got plenty of room on my belt. lol...
