My wife pays about $1.20CDN per liter. 3.8 liters equals a gallon. The Canadian dollar is slightly stronger than the US dollar today ($1 to $1.01)... thus the price she pays for a gallon runs about $4.56USD. It's been around that price since we married in '04. What surprised me when I moved up there for awhile was that nearly half the vehicles are pickups and large SUVs.

not trying to get personal, but i have to ask, you live here and your wife lives in Canada??

I'm so not looking for $5 a gal gas with a 45 mile RT commute to work every day, and a 90 mile Round trip to the farm on weekends.
When it got so high a couple of years ago, we did go out and buy a little nissan for me to drive to work. 33 mpg helps.

Wont be long before we'll have to saddle up to go anywhere. I've been known to make a trip to the store or go by and pay the water bill on the back of a mule.

Yes. We're going through the entire immigration process. Her petition was approved last week after we started this ordeal October '09. She should be here by mid-March when I go up there to get her and her stuff. I was an over the road trucker up until this past Christmas so when I took time off, I'd take it off up there. Had to return here to get things set up for her arrival.

Aside from the fact that the courier the US government used lost the entire immigration package (which contains her original birth certificate, her Canadian passport and the extremely important visa paperwork) sent from the US consulate in Montreal within the past few days... we're glad to almost be through with the entire ordeal (PITA process I might add). Now, if we can only get the courier to friggin' find out where that package is we'll be good to go. Until it's located and in my wife's hands, our plans for my booking a flight to Canada and making final arrangements for a rental truck are on hold. <_<

Thanks. I'm flying north on the 24th. Should be crossing back in the US at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on the morning of the 26th. Back in OKC by the evening of the 27th. Back to work on the 29th. My wife won't be going to work immediately as I suggested that she'd take it easy, relax and explore her new town for a couple of months. She already found out about the Starbucks a half mile away when I let it slip that there was one nearby. :-[
