I am going to pick up an Eotech for shooting 3 gun in the Iron Sight/1x Red Dot division. I know little to nothing about them. What do I need to know? What models are better than others, etc?

Chris just got the new EXPS 2-1. It's got a lot better battery life and is smaller/lighter than the older models. It's the standard 65 MOA ring with the 1 MOA dot in the center. It also has a built in riser.
I've got a 511.D1 which just has the single 1 MOA dot (no ring) reticle which I like a lot. Eats batteries compared to the EXPS, but it was cheap! I believe EO is discontinuing the single dot models which is retarded. Check mine out at the next match next to the others. It doesn't have the riser, so I've got it on top of an ADM QD mount.

I definately want to go DQ mount so I can swap it on/off my CTR-02.
I think I want the single dot model too. I may force Chris to leave his on my rifle since its sighted in and all. I want to play in irons too.

All of my EoThings have the 65 moa circle / 1 moa dot setup, I've been super happy with all of them. I'll have two of them with me Sunday if you want to get a look. Hell, I've got an extra one that Chambers was using that you can take and try out right now if you want...

lol... Sometimes that's how it's gotta be... I do have the EoTech off of my 9mm rifle right now if you want to try one out.

I'd say thats fair for letting me steal your rifle for the weekend. Chambers wasnt having much luck with his QD mount holding zero when he put it back on though.

My 552 sits on an LT eothingy riser. I can't remember if I've tried to see if it'd return to zero or not.
