Has anyone heard what kind of "theme" David has planned for the Feb 20 Defensive Pistol match at Heartland Outdoors. We had several good suggestions and am anxious to see which ones (if any) we end up using.

One thing I would like to see is the "suggested" concealment become a required aspect of the match.

well i know he said, he was going to do some of the same stages (from the "special" match last month), but just vary them a little.. also going to have to respectfully disagree on concealment becoming required.. there are some new people that it would not be safe drawing from concealment and part of what i like about the match is the fact that i can invite newbies to try it out... maybe a "concealment" division, but not a requirement, i mean i can just see someone getting their gun caught in their shirt..

I will agree with you Benjamin(2) I hadn't thought about that. We could either waive it for first time shooters or just leave it as recommended but not required.

The nice thing about this match is the rules can be "adjusted" and we don't have to stick to something if it doesn't work.

I can't wait

If I am able to make it to this match, I don't think I would participate if it was required that we draw from concealment. I don't think it would be a good idea to do it that way, especially since this is a good match for beginners to competition. Some people have not praticed enough IMHO. from drawing from concealment and going to live fire

I didn't shoot from concealment last time b/c it was my first match. I will be this time around though.

OK, OK! I take back what I suggested. Leave me alone! I am going back to the General Discussion area. They aren't as mean over there.

No wait I'm not a member there yet.

It would be pretty fun if they would let me do a ninja roll on the ground and draw me Glock 27 from my ankle holster.

I'm pretty sure I will miss that one. :c029:

(I really like smileys...can you guys tell?)

Ninja rolls are so "yesterday". Now running and jumping? Now your talking. Even without a gun that would be pretty impressive.

I have no idea what "Jerry Jerry" means but I am going to sign all of my posts with it for the next 24 hours

I don't think you want to miss it, I dont ninja roll very often, or I could just run and jump through the air while firing 2 guns

Only a complete idiot would require new shooters to draw from concealment. Ha ha!!! I had to pile on.

I want more run and gun or kneel and gun or crouch and gun. The first few matches had a lot if movement or moving targets much like last months concealment match. David slowed the pace down some for awhile because the influx of newbies was high. I think it's time to ramp it back up. I want to shoot and move!!!

Is the round count on the defensive matches about the same as the concealment challenge match. I'm thinking about dropping to LO CAP for more mag changes. I may sound like a FNG but mag changes are fun!

Should be about 75. I loved shooting production because of mag changes.

Do you have a sub-compact? 3.5" barrel or less?
