Just in case anyone is in the area. It's at MSSA range. Usually 20-25 shooters.

Match director is Tom Ross

Saturday should be a great day for a 3 Gun match. If we get a break on the weather, we should be looking at a high of 58 with a 10% chance of precip. The low is only supposed to be in the 40’s, so shouldn’t be too bad to get started.
Planning on 5-6 stages. We’ll keep the stages brief and to the point. Lesson learned from last month’s match. Looking to be able to finish up by 1430.
If you bring 75 rifle/70 handgun/50 birdshot/20 slugs/10 buckshot (00) rounds, you should be good to cover all the stages. Our new pigeon flippers have been assembled and calibrated, so we’ll have an additional shotgun challenge. Please note that I included buckshot in the ammo requirement. We’ll have one stage that will include some buckshot targets. Make them 00 buckshot rounds so we keep the playing field level.
For the new shooters, we're currently using USPSA rules for multi-gun competition. If you take a look at http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2011_Multigun_Rules%2012_15_2010.pdf, to see how the sport is set up and how classes are determined. Review the rifle and shotgun rules too, and you'll be ready to go. You will register by class and division. Match fees are $10 for MSSA members/$12 for non-members. I’m giving some thought to going to IMGA rules and scoring for our March match.
For those of you who haven't shot with us before, no steel core ammo or M855/SS109 on any of the long range targets. Shot size for birdshot must be 7 1/2 or smaller. No slugs or buckshot on steel targets. MSSA is run as a cold range, so no magazines in guns or gun handling north of the AP road unless you're in a safety area.
I'll be doing preliminary set-up Thursday afternoon and late Friday, so if you have any ideas for stages, send them to me and we’ll try and put your target stands and props in a bay and you can finish setting up Saturday AM. Gates open at 0800, first rounds downrange at 1000. Look forward to seeing you there!

Is this in Memphis, TN? I saw Arlington on the website and got excited about a trip down to Dallas this weekend.

Update for 3 Gun at MSSA on 18 Feb

The stages for Saturday are roughed out, but the range is really, really wet. I tried to minimize movement to cut down on the excitement level, but if we get any significant rain on Friday night or Saturday AM, it will be way too soggy to safely execute the match. When I looked at the forecast earlier, it was going to be good. Now, I gotta keep reminding myself that these are the same people that can tell us with 100% certainty that it will be ½ degree warmer 100 years from now…

Any more matches in Tennessee? If so we would be happy to get a local match forum started up for you guys. Just let us know how we can help you grow your matches.

They all post on FB and have websites that are so so. I'm biased opinion because I don't do FB so I would love to see someone keep up announcements on here.

I see a lot of clubs/matches use websites and/or Facebook pages for match updates. The problem is that neither resource sends you an automatic email every time somebody posts info like a forum will when you're sis robed with email notifications. In my opinion a forum is still the best means if instance communication about a match other than a direct email listing which can get annoying.
