last week , when I shot a couple Sig Sauers, I SUCKED big time. I believe shooting 1911s has spoile d me. I can shoot my CZs fine, do ok with my HK guns( but they are 9mm and easier to handle too) but when I shoot those Sigs( especially the . 45 acp P 220 ones)...nothing good happens.

make s me think that I should thin the herd( especially non 1911 .45 acp guns). the issue is pricing these days. I would have to eat about 50% to sell them ...and then comes the remorse ( if I do )

Usually I have a strong desire not to give up( on those Sigs either.)

my head spins some times. tough choice. I need to think this through.

If you have the inclination and resources, I suggest you might want to try a Sig P226 X5 or X6 from their Master Shop in Germany. There is no comparison between these pistols and their more common counterparts. IMO, these SAO Sigs have the best triggers I've ever experienced on a pistol, and I have some very well made 1911's. They're also fully adjustable. The Sigs will never replace my 1911's, but they are a joy to shoot on the range. (Just ordered a P220 X6, but I'm hoping it will have the same great trigger.)

I understand your grief about eating the 50%. I've got a safe full of these! I just hate to "give them away"!

you are so right @DRD. The best I shot in my first 2 years of shooting was an X^. awesome piece of gunsmithing and probably one of the best guns I could own. pricey now though

Sorry to hear you struggled so much with your Sig experience.I have several Sigs from P220, 365 to 1911"s and all in between and love them. The P220 in .45 was my duty weapon back in my deputy sheriff days. I have always found them to be accurate, easy to shoot and relatively maintenance free. Maybe being used to a 1911, probably what you learned on? has made it difficult to get used to the P220. That being said, the P220 was the first auto loading pistol I learned on so naturally I tend to lean on the P220 side rather than 1911. I have in the last couple of years fallen in love with the 1911 platform and now is my favorite range gun(s) to shoot.

I agree the 1911s have spoiled me. I have 2- p220 that I do shoot well enough . but 2 models I do not. I also think my hand injury left me unable to shoot these guns as well as I shoot a 1911. different trigger and grip styles play a role. no hate here . just thinking it might be time to open up some room in the safes. thanks for the input@chwats

I have the p320. it is an awesome shooter. I do shoot better with my sr1911 at longer distance but at 25 yards and in i they are both are very accurite.

shot a friends p320 x Five legend--best gun in the legend series IMHO and I shot it well but it was a 9mm. my issues are with the p220 .45 acp and I am sure it is not the gun--it is my injure d hand and needing some time withthat sig trigger vs our prized 1911 trigger

I am a 1911 shooter first also and they do spoil us to ergos and trigger but I find Sig SAO pistols to be very accurate and controllable and often carry a P229 Legion SAO. For me personally it is just as easy and accurate to shoot as my 1911's. Had to adjust to the larger grip diameter but you have to put those extra rounds somewhere...
