Guys, a turn them all in bill wont pass. What you will see is a mag cap limit, gun show loophole (whatever the hell that is) closing, and something linking mental issues to NICS.

If the NRA doesn't phone it in you probably wont even hear about a mag capacity bill making it to the floor for discussion. I answered a hypothetical question in another thread with a poorly worded answer and now I wish I hadn't.

They WILL come to your home and take away your property, and then they will take away your personal freedom by placing you in jail and there isn't a thing that Troy or anyone else can do about it IF they decide that is what "they" want to do about it. They will make you out to be worse than public enemy #1, and prosecute you to the full extent of "Federal law" so you got to decide is it worth it or isn't it.

This is true. What I was saying, to clarify, is that at the local level the thought is that we will not have the authority nor the funding to participate in a gun grab. We don't want to, and that is how we would fall back to.

My pension is secure. I could retire and get another job. To me, I'd rather lay tile than participate in a all or nothing gun grab. I don't think it would ever come to this. But......Troy The Tile Man is my backup plan.

What use are the parts without the lower receiver? I guess you could mount what is left on the wall as art?

Junk the lower and hang onto the rest so when sanity is finally restored you can buy another lower and have your gun back the way it was. :)

If (which i don't think it will happen) there was a law passed that i had to give up my AR (which i love), i would give it up voluntarily. As much as i love my guns, i love my wife more! If I was to ever have gun charges on my record, my career would be done, period. Every job i apply for they do an extensive background check and if i had gun charges, i wouldn't even get an interview... So the only right thing to do would be to put my wants 2nd...

I"m gonna rent a cop outfit and come knock on your door asking for your guns then.

I'm confident Reid would not stand a chance of reelection I he put through or supported a gun control bill. I have seen video of him out on the range with his constituents in his home state. Pretty sure he even got the range a big grant somehow. He's smart enough to know he looses all those votes and probably the next election based on the issue.

Reid's reelection for this term was not a slam dunk, it was hard fought. If he takes a hit on gun control he knows he is done.

The gooberment plans on most of us, since we are generally law abbiders, doing as Ben Ben stated and giving em up. The others will get the treatment Kurt M so correctly outlined and will be made "examples of " in such an over the top manner as to encourage the rest of us to be good little "comrades" and turn them in, as well as our list of those who still have them for a tidy reward. It will be one step at a time and then one big swat swoop for the final answer to the gun "question". Prepare to ask your self the HARD HARD questions about what you will be willing to do when that time will most surely come.

I live in Nevada now ... the locals tell me Reid is hated by every place in the State except Vegas/Henderson. The only reason they send him back is he looks out for the gaming lobby and keeps the military and BLM funded out here... A sparse state like this depends on Federal dollars. In Nevada, Harry is the "hold your nose and pull the lever" candidate every election.
