My brother and I went shooting at a nearby gun range where they have paper targets with the likeness of Osama Bin Laden on them. I wonder if the same company could make one with the likeness of Bob Costas.

Opinions are good to go...Irresponsible opinions are a problem. To say that the woman would still be alive if the guy didn't have a gun is an irresponsible statement that is impossible to prove. if the guy wanted to kill her, he would have killed her, regardless of the choice of weapon.

i've always liked Costas. cant defend him on this one.
 
I actually downloaded some pics of Bin Ladin, complete with the fax number of the Afgan embassy a couple of years ago from a web site. Shot a few holes into the head, and faxed them in. Mute point now.

I didn't put them on facebook.

Put his face on one of those bad guy hostage targets. Hey gotta use somebody's face.

When we do the Women On Target at the Ponca Range, I take the pistol course, and as a joke tell them to shoot the target with a mental pic of an ex husband or boyfriend.
They take on a different attitude then. Its kinda scary.......

idk, shooting at someone in effigy just because they were running their mouth seems like a bit much to me

I agree
Bin Laden was a terrorist & responsible for the deaths of a countless number of people.........big difference.

You guys are free to do what you want, I'm just saying I agree with PG, I think it's a little extreme.

The destruction of paper makes an effective POLITICAL STATEMENT or demonstration. Mr. Costas uses the mass media to bully his opinions into the ears of millions. Bin Laden deserved extreme violence because he administered real violence; Mr. Costas deserves shocking political demonstrations because that is what he administers. Demonstrations are more effective when they seem "a bit much" to some.
 
I think Keanu Reeves proved that sometimes it's OK to shoot the hostage in a non-leathal spot in order to kill the hostage taker. And why would he lie?
 
You guys need to employ some common sense with effigy targets. I agree that Costas is an idiot and what he said has no place on Sunday Night Football. But that kind of crap reinforces negative stereotypes about the shooting sports and the people who participate in them. Which makes it no different, and probably worse than what he did in the first place.
 
i can promise you life becomes a lot easier when you don't get worked up or dwell on things other people say. I mean everyone has different opinions, etc.. why spend time and effort so worked up over little things like the fact we have freedom of speech so people can say stupid things. I mean in N. Korea parents are executed in front of their children, 165 million+ girls have been aborted due to the child restrictions in China and similar countries, there are 400,000 children that will die from lack of clean water.. so just to me to get so worked up about little things like what someone says on TV, just isn't worth the time, effort or money.... especially considering it makes me thankful that people can run their mouth in this country... you certainly can't do that everywhere...
