I really want Mike @ Accurate Iron to do the job but he is unresponsive to emails probably due to the fact that he is busy as hell, which is understandble. So, i was wondering if there are any other gunsmiths you guys would trust your guns with?

By doing some google searches ive ran across some gunsmiths who a lot of people have been happy with. I just wanted to get some BoomerShooter thoughts.

thanks in advance!

You can do it yourself

If Brandon can figure it out I'm sure anyone could do it. There are lots of videos and guides out there to walk you through it. I

This topic seems familiar.

Thanks for the links but do not have any of the tools or confidence to take on a job like that. :-(

Do you have a hammer? Do you have a punch? It's OK, if you don't have a punch you can use the takedown tool for something useful for a change.

For confidence, watch this 5 times:

Be patient with Mike he will get back with you, heck you might even have a PM sent to you from here tonight. If you don't want to do it yourself and Mike is to busy then I would suggest Dan Burwell but it is also very hard to get ahold of him too due to his work volume. Good luck

Get the Apex ultimate striker block and then polish the contact points on the sear and striker and you're good to go with the pro. Standard models are a bit more work to get a decent trigger pull.

Any updates since installing the Apex Comp AEK?

Sorry for not seeing this earlier.

Mitch (offered to help) ended up helping me with the install. The install went pretty smooth. He even polished some parts.
The only issue I had after he got done was that the trigger return spring (TRS) from Apex was too light. The safety notch behind the trigger kept snagging on the frame of the body when the trigger was engaged. I went online and found that other people were having the same problem. I called Apex and told them about it. they took my number and said that they would call back....still waiting on that call back.
I ended up taking the gun apart again (after watching Mitch do it) and put the original trigger return spring on it. Now it doesnt snag.

The trigger before the TRS from the kit was a sub 3lb pull. Now with the stock TRS im guessing its around 3.5 to 4. Which is still a huge improvement from the 6.5lbs stock "Pro" trigger.
After the AEK and the part polishing tho the gun is a dream to shoot. The take up is smooooooth and the break is crisp. All of the "gritty" take up is gone and my sight picture isnt disturbed when I'm pressing the trigger since the pull is significantly lighter than before.

I took the gun out this last Sat to the USPSA match at OKCGC for my first match. I couldn't be happier with how it performed. I really do not see me changing anything on the gun as long as i keep shooting production.

I'm not really good at writing reviews so I hope this helped somewhat. I can say tho that if I buy another M&P I'm certain that I will be putting this or the Carry kit in the gun.

I just want to point out that, if you're willing to wait, an Accurate Iron trigger is far and away better than an Apex trigger.

I wasn't willing to wait though.

M&p's are the shiznit. Especially with Apex parts in em. Hope to see you at more matches with it.

Im am going to try and make as many as i can this coming year. I am loving my M&P9 more and more specially now with the AEK in it.

Nice. If I had remembered I would've let you dry fire my FSS kit. Apex is some good stuff.

That trigger feels ****ing great man. If i get into shooting Limited i'll probably go the M&P40 way and put the FSS kit in the gun. Good shootin with ya yesterday man!

I am sure that what Mike @ AI can do is far far better. After Mitch put in my AEK & polished some parts, I am extremely happy with how it turned out. For being a new shooter i think the trigger is great. Plus i got to see how the gun comes apart, which was a great learning experience in its self.
