Ok here's my question. What's the difference between a Montefeltro and an M1, M2? I'm running a M2 right now and like it just fine but I looked at a Monte this weekend and love the longer forearm and the wood. Is the Monte just a M1 bird gun? Can I get a longer mag tube for one and therefor get a complete race package done on one?

there's something weird with the barrel on the montefeltro, the M1/M2 tube doesn't fit it. Nordic does not make a tube for it, I'm not sure who does.

Ben Fortin was working on getting a Vinci Super Sport in Carbon Fiber all tricked out for 3 gun. That's one cool gun. Jeff Crblitt also of Team Benelli already pimped out a Vinci. It's badass!

I haven't seen an update on it, but Nordic Components posted a pic of a Vinci with a nordic tube on their facebook page just before High Plains. Should be interesting to see how easy it is to modify a Vinci, and add a tube. The perceived recoil of the Vinci is far less than the typical M1/M2. The barrel on the Vinci snaps into place vs the typical threaded nut on most shotguns.

I did not order any and do not plan to change from my current M2. Will has a Vinci that he uses for duck hunting. We were looking at how the barrel and stock come together and could not come up with a way to put a tube on a vinci since the barrel snaps into the stock. I am very interested to see how Nordic and others have changed the connection to allow use of a mag tube.

Regarding perceived recoil. All I can say is after using my O/U and going through an entire box of 3" black cloud ammo on opening day, I had no desire to hunt again the next morning with my over/under because my shoulder was sore. Will's shoulder was fine and he fired about the same number of shots. I doubt the recoil on the low brass bird shot we use for 3 gun is going to be that drastically different between an M2 and a Vinci. If we were shooting full power buck and slug all day, this would likely change my opinion.

That's kind of what I was thinking about the $300 comfortech stocks. I couldn't tell any difference with 3 1/8 dram bird shot, and low recoil slugs or buck. But I was thinking that with max loaded 3" magnums it may be an entirely different story.

Thanks for all the info guy's. Personally I think the Vinci is about as ugly as homemade soap but if it shoots softer than a Versa Max it might warrant another look if it can be tricked out. I was playing with all those pretty shotguns the other day and got to wanting something different than plastic.
