Anybody using a Glock 24 for competition? I handled one today and actually liked it which is amazing sing the only Glock I have like up until now is my Gen 2.5 Glock 26. Im pining over a G35 or G24 since I can't make major PF with my XDm 5.25 9mm (or can I?)

I got a new Glock 24 about a month ago from Tony at makereadyproshop.com and I love it. It is one of the best shooting pistols I have ever shot matches with. If you want to shoot it and try it out you are more than welcome to it just let me know.View attachment 2838

In limited you have to have a 40 or larger to make major. If u turned ur xdm into an open done then yes you can make major.
I have a 35 I love it. I would suggest shooting a 24 before buying one. Some people don't like the length of the slide( I know I'm going to get made fun of for this).

You not gonna make major with a 9mm unless you go open and 9 Major. I've got a G24 and rather enjoy it! several here have shot it and it seems a few more are floating around now BUT don't go out and buy one without shooting one first! some folks just can't get used to the long slide and I'll be nice Hensy lol

Your not going to make major with a 34 either due to the 9mm the 35 you'd have no problem as it's a 40 caliber. Like most of the guys I know who have the G24 we would be more than happy to let you run a few rounds and see what ya think. Later,

Kirk

Any of you G24 owners members at OKC Gun Club? Shoot at Heartland? I would live to give it a try sometime when you go to either. My email is [email protected] or my cell is 405-501-3554. Thanks!

I can meet you up there next weekend if you want or when the next match is just let me know.. 208-3622

I'll be out at the 3-gun I know! I need to get my membership out at the gunclub but your more than welcome to run a few rounds. If I'm feeling froggy I might end up over at Heartland but the hours I'm working I get home way too late and to keep these looks up I need a lot of sleep LOL

Be careful if you shoot Feegee's it doesn't seem to be as acurate as mine :onthequiet: Later,

You can make "Major" w/ 9mm, but it has to be hotter. But w/ .40 Auto you don't have to get hotter round I don't think.

If you're into like Steel Challenge or Pro-Am then the Glock 24 would be great but that's the only 2 matches I can think of to use it in. I'd get a Glock 35 since you can use it in all the matches.

I'm gonna get me a Glock 35 soon!

Thanks Alexander. I not sure what I'm going to do but for now I will stay with my XDm 5.25 9mm until I know more. I can shoot Production in USPSA with it and go from there.

I really liked my 24. It was accurate & reliable. Hated to sell it but i didn't shoot it anymore with 2 G35's and a 2011.

Only complaints are holsters are harder to find and it's limited to the games it can play. For USPSA it's GTG for Limited/L10 and Open, but not production. Not legal for IDPA and GTG for most 3gun. A G35 is less limiting and can be used in more games/divisions.

9mm major is an open round, I think that's the only place you can play 9mm major BUT I've been wrong once this year.

Holsters are an easy fix for the folks that know Troy but I don't think I have seen one G24 holster in a store.

No production with a G24 for sure as for IDPA well I'm not a fan so no worries for me but all the cool kids play limited :smoke: Later,

I had a Glock 24. It was good for laughs, since I would conceal carry it in my Crossbreed supertuck IWB holster, hehehe. I ended up trading it. For me, I didn't really benefit from the longer slide and I'm actually more accurate with a Glock compact and subcompact grips than I am the fullsized Glock grip. If I ever get serious about competitions, I may get a Glock 34 or 35.
