Loki?

Anybody else waiting for a rifle from Loki Weapon Systems? I placed my order almost 7 weeks ago and was told today it will be another 3

I suck at waiting. It's my first ar and it's hurting my feelers not having it yet. I will try to be patient. No promises.

Side question. For those who have a Loki rifle, is it worth the wait?

I ordered some rifles on March 1st. They just shipped 3 to me and the rest will come later. They are swamped. Their lead time is around 8-10 weeks now. I have a hard time waiting also, but Loki is doing all they can do. Not much longer and I bet it will be heading your way. The demand is crazy right now for ARs.

Many AR manufacturers are 8-10 weeks out right now. It's an election year!!! I heard the big boys like Ruger and S&W temporarily quit taking orders last week.

Yeah I think so.

I guess I just needed to hear I'm not the only one having to wait. I was originally told 3-5 weeks. Now it's looking like 10. Ultimately not a big deal, but when your waiting on your first, weeks feel like months. I appreciate the perspective and insight. I will try to be less of a female sex organ while waiting. Try is the word of the day.

You bought a great rifle waiting sucks but it is worth the wait. Once you get your rifle go back and look at lower priced options you will realize they were never an option just a passing thought. Good luck waiting.

Going to show my ignorance here, but what's with the super long looking barrels with no picatinny? I never saw them until I starting looking at this forums and Boomer is filled with them. Is there some kind of competition rule or advantage to them?

No rule, but the advantage to not having them is that they add weight. Weight is bad for comp guns, and the rails aren't necessary, so they go.

The cool thing about that carbon handguard, and the Nordic aluminum ones, is that you can add rail sections if needed.

Ah OK ... So, do those have a longer than normal barrel or does it just look that way because it doesn't have a bunch of toys hanging off it?

Correct, but to add to it.......the longer the HG the farther forward you can position your support hand.
This makes transitioning from 1 target to the next more efficient.

Typically 18" barrels with rifle length gas system.
Some use 20", some use 16" but 18" is the more popular choice.

That's interesting ... I have a M&P AR15-22 and I keep my left hand where the mag connects to the lower when I'm shooting from a standing position. I'll have to try hanging on further down to see if I can get a better grouping. Been thinking about sticking a grip on the front, so that might give me a good excuse.

Yeah, I just looked and mine has a 16" barrel. I guess that's why those look so strange, I'm used to seeing them with a 2" shorter barrel.

Longer handguards help keep your barrel from touching barricades at matches or a tree limb or something similar that you might lean up against to get shooting support while hunting too.

Posting that picture is pure torture Jesse. My Loki isn't here yet. I got 3 of them in a couple days ago, but Erik is making me suffer....haha...Def worth the wait. I'm going to come watch you guys shoot sometime. I would totally embarrass myself if I tried it right now....Do they have a "pre K" class group for 3 gun. Kinda like baseball....they have the minors and then the Majors. Or do I just have to jump right into the lion's den?
