Ruger Rimfire Challenge Oklahoma State Match on April 14th and 15th, 2012.

I would love to make this one, but I've already commited to go to Ponca on that Saturday and 2 road trips in 2 days isn't possible for me. Hope they have one of these again, maybe OKC!

Going to be a shooting weekend for me. Hose down in Ponca on Saturday, and travel to Pryor on Sunday. The better half was a little pissy about it, but I told her to grow up and get over it.
(not really, but just typing that made me feel better about the verbal beat down I got)

I shot the Ruger Rimfire Challenge Arkansas State match today (the rifle portion, in the afternoon, was cold and wet)
But dang, shooters come out of the woodwork for this...60+ shooters.

I shot like crap and my trusty 10/22 had malfs today...the first its ever had. Oh well.

It looked like a nice prize table with quite a bit of Volquartzen & TacSol stuff, and of course, several Rugers.

I think the stages will be different, which is the major difference between RRC and Steel Challenge...the stages arent 'uniform'
and the host club determines the format. For instance, The Ark match ran every stage with 3 strings instead of the usual 5.

Hey Robert C, will Saturday shooters still be eligible for the random draw prizes if we aren't there Sunday? We are shooting about noon in Sat as it stands right now.

There has been several questions asked that could use an answer, and for those of us that have to drive over a hundred miles, how will we know if the match has been canceled by bad weather, or is it on, no matter what?

Sorry everyone, I have been so busy getting ready for this match I haven't made time to get on the forums.

There have been a few questions:

1. Will the match be cancelled for bad weather? No

2. Is everyone eligible for the prize table? Yes, if you aren't present then you need to assign a proxy to pick up your stuff.

3. Can you enter multiple divisions? Yes.

4. How is the prize table set up? The prize table is by random draw, you will be given a ticket with a number on it and at the awards we will draw out of a hat to determine the order.

There are several guns on the prize table plus some other expensive items, ie trigger groups, certificates for tactical solutions, training certificates, reddot scopes , Ruger accessories, and lots more. Currently I have award for 70 shooters and am working on getting more.

There will also be a side match that will be using a Ruger pistol to shoot a series of targets, no time limit, just plain accuracy. The pistol will be given away on Sunday at the awards. In the event of a tie we will have a shoot off on Sunday @ 4.

If you have any more questions feel free to call or email me.

Thanks for all the interest, hope to see you guys this weekend.

Severe weather, including tornadoes, possible all weekend.

Are you positive there won't be a Plan B?

April has a 5th Sunday, in case that helps.....

I don't want to speak for Robert, but I was out at his place today and he has set up the course so that all stages can be shot from under his permanent awnings. He has a large building that is available of it really pours down where you can go and take a break. If a tornado comes and the range takes a direct hit while you are there shooting, well, I suppose it was your time to go...

Heres the email Robert sent around 6

I have had several calls about the weather affecting the Ruger Rimfire match this weekend.

We are going to hold the match and have a great time shooting in the rainJ (power of positive thinking?)

The format is such that if the weather gets bad for a little while then we can take a break, so we are going to work thru it.

The stages are set to be shot from under covered areas, and we have a 3000 Square ft building to retreat to if gets to bad.

Yes you can still just show up and shoot the match; it may be the only thing that doesn't get rained out this weekend!

We may shoot in the rain tomorrow. I don't have a problem shooting in the rain Sunday.
I hunt and fish in the rain. Maybe take a bar of soap, and get the spring bath out of the way:D
