I am enjoying revolver shooting a lot lately. The blues come from a sore and bruised knuckle on my shooting hand middle finger. The trigger guard rubs it when shooting. Does not matte r if it is a Ruger or S+W. THE ONLY revolver that is comfortable(becaus e ofrubber on the back of the trigger guard )is my Dan Wesson 715,

Does anyone make grips that fit like the grips on the DW 715 for a Ruger and S+W?
see pic>>

I am at a loss. may have to search for finger protection to allow me to enjoy shooting these great guns

I have searched hogue ,altamont and pachymar...no dice

What model Smith are you wanting grips for?

a SW 617( 22lr) and probably for a Ruger Super Redhawk 10mm. Iam researching grips for that one now. NO ONE seems to have enough rubber near or under the trigger guard Bender. MY knuckle on finger 3 is sore to say the least. I can use moleskin to help out with the irritation from friction . Rubber is better though

thanks

boat doc;

Have you looked at the Pachmayr "Decelerator" grips? They seem to come down further behind the trigger guard than the Hogue grips do. I have a set of the Pachmayr "Grippers" and it looks like you could remove about 1/8" of the rubber under the frame with a file and sandpaper to get a higher position for your middle finger. Might be worth a try.

Let me check on the grips that I have. If the "Gripper" set that I have will fit my 617, I may be able to let you have them for a very low price. More info tomorrow.

Very sorry to say, the "Gripper" set that I have does not fit the 617. Now I'm trying to figure out which of my S&W revolvers it does fit. It's definitely made for a K/L frame round butt.

The problem with the Gripper set is that the mounting screw (in mid grip) rubs against the mainspring. That's why the Hogue grips on my 617 have an adapter that mates with a mounting screw that goes through the bottom of the grip.
