How long, is too long?

Yeah...I say run it and don't worry about it.

Some comps, most notably the Titan, direct some gas backwards. That would probably be the hardest one on a hand guard.

Mine shot just fine the 30 or so rounds I shot trying to get the POS gas block adjusted. Never did work. I guess I gotta send it back. Must be sized incorrectly.

It is one of those inexpensive KEIS models. The set screw in the gas adjustment seems really loose. I tried it on my Stag and my new build. I had it screwed almost all the way out to get it to lock the bolt back on my 18" rifle length gas and it never would lock back the bolt on my 16" middy. Sounds like the inlet home may be undersized?

I agree - sounds like misalignment. Are you shouldered up against the barrel contour? I always go 1/16-1/8" forward of the shoulder to account for the handguard retaining cap not being there.

I got a Keis along with a Syrac and ended up using the Syrac on my rifle. The Keis looks good though. I especially like the set screw instead of pin to retain the gas tube.

She flows when I blow through it. It didn't work on two different barrels.. Side to side is lined up. How do you check back to front?

So they don't need to be pushed all the way back? My keis has a roll pin no threads???

No, I always go a little bit forward and not up against the shoulder. About 3-4 full rotations on the Syrac had my LMOS running & locking back with Hornady Steel Match, XM193 & my handloads.

My Keis i just got 2 wks ago had a set screw to retain the gas tube. Maybe it is something new.
