2-25-12 3 Gun @ OKC Gun Club

Oh yea, I meant to ask about that, I ordered more caddies but they arent here yet...So i might need a couple caddies on loan if anyone is kind enough to oblige! :meeting:

And loadout? I assume that one extra mag carried for pistol and rifle ought to be sufficient for each stage assuming of course that my shooting is up to the task?

Ek

usually, it the shotgun stages that will get you.... it is rare to have to go for a 2nd reload in either pistol or rifle at these matches... also there is a new rule that you have to be clean shaven!!! good thing you already took care of that, hahahhaa

So technically I cant shoot WHILE im drinking...the mechanics of that sound hard enough, I mean unless Im going to shoot one handed, or invent a tactical rifle mounted sippy cup...hmmmmmm

Talked to mike earlier about finalizing the stages. We may have a couple short and sweet shotgun standard stages. With high plains only 3-4 months away it may give you am idea of how you compare on things.

Don't you hate that even stage designers talk about stuff but don't tell u what is actually going to happen? I know I do!!!

So we discussed having a quick stage to break up the big stages where you start at low ready with a round chambered and a round in the mag of your shotgun. At the beep shoot popper 7-10 yards away load eight rounds, shoot another popper at 7-10 yards. Simple as that. One shot at the old Mr. Weak hand drill. Afterwards everyone can serve who loads 'em fastest. We may have to weight this stage as 50 points rather than 100? Not sure in that.

2nd idea was to have another stage or string. That requires you to start at the lower ready and unload the remaining 8 rounds from your gun onto the poppers at 7-10 yards.

What do you think?

We may or may not use them once e get a feel for the timing on the other stages.

Actually shooting under the influence is against the law in Oklahoma. Don't ask me how I know.

Haven't made my scoring program where you can weight the stages. Easy workaround (for now)...combine the two short ones (add up times and penalties).

I like the short skills-test type stages...like speed shoots, shotgun/rifle El Prez, etc.

If u have a wide open choke or spreader shells you may want them for this one. It should be a lot of close fast shotgun.

That will work for scoring but not for everyone to see their individual times per stage. Guess the speed shoots are 100 points too. Time to start practicing that shotgun loading.

That's how we've done it traditionally anyway....but I will tweak this thing to where we can weight stages soon.

I know I am sorta up in the air on the weighted stages thing. I can see giving each gun 50 points. one gun 50, two gun 100, three gun 150 but then sometimes you shoot 60 rounds of rifle in a one gun stage but only 40 rounds of rifle pistol and shotgun on a 3 gun stage. Assigning a point per round required per stage is probably the way to achieve the most even weighting. Much like USPSA does.
