.22 Pistol Like Glock

I want to purchase a .22 pistol for training that's as much like my Glock 22 (.40) as possible. The two main things I'm looking for is size (so my grip doesn't have to change) and a two-stage trigger like the Glock. Any suggestions?

Get a conversion kit for your Glock. It will use the same frame, you just replace the slide and magazine.

I shot 400 rounds through my advantage Arms Glock conversion this week. You can change the sights on the upper and use your lower. Only negative is the 10 round mags. I bought 7 of them so I wouldn't have to load ever 10 minutes.

The conversion is the way to go. But the other alternative is the ISSC M22 Glock replica in .22

I don't want to mess with my Glock since it's a duty weapon. I went ahead and purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P 22.

Replacing the slide and magazine won't mess with your pistol. It swaps back just like taking it apart for cleaning.

Training with a different gun seems counter productive to me. You could have bought a seperate frame and a .22 slide if you were worried about use damaging your duty weapon.

I use mine all the time and my G21 is my duty. No issues.

I just rather be safe and not mess with the pistol. Plus my firearm instructors all were against the .22 conversion kits for the Glock.

I do wish I could have found a pistol closer to the way my Glock work.

I hate to break it to you but your firearms instructors don't know what they are talking about in regards to this situation. Let me know what match your going to be at next and I'll bring mine. You can be the new guy that educates your instructors. In fact if you keep shouting matches with the guys in this forum you will be teaching your instructors ALOT of things.

If a .22 conversion in the frame of a gun designed to shoot .40 will mess it up then it's a backwards world indeed.

I've got 3-4k rounds through my AA Kit. Only problem I've had with the frame is .22 sure makes it dirtier, compared to centerfire ammo, but it is a glock.

If you don't want the conversion, I find the grip angle of the Browning Buckmark to be similar to the Glock. Well, more similar than any other .22 pistol I've tried.

I believe to M&P22 is a step in the wrong direction. First, it has a thumb safety, which will make you adjust your grip. Second, I find the M&P sits lower in the hand than the glock. I believe going back & fourth between these two platforms may be counterproductive.

i have never used the 22 conversion kit for the glock but i don't see how it would damage anything on the pistol. just clean it between swapping. if you don't want to that just dry fire. another alternative would be is to pick up a used LE trade in Glock like your duty weapon and make it a dedicated .22lr training gun. leaving your duty pistol for duty and your training gun for trainings.. since they are, in theory, the same gun.

I agree with Ryan I have a conversion for model 19. I like using my buckmark especially to draw and fire and move and fire drills. The time on the buckmark this past fall helped me get a consistent grip and quicker sight picture the early days if I had a head cam those shots were really slow and sight picture was really wobbly. I have 5 magazines for the buckmark that keeps things moving.

So do you guys find the AA kit is just a bit too wide to fit right in Glock holsters? Do you just loosen yours up or not practice draws with it? I've thought about getting one to shoot steel challenge with in RF, then CF with my 34.
