2nd Annual AR15.com Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championships
Presented by Brownells and Hornady
August 24-26, 2012
Last year the AR15.com Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship set a new standard for national 3 Gun matches, so from the moment the last shot was fired, we knew we had to host it again. Announcing the 2012 AR15.com Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship, to be held at the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky, on August 24-26, 2012. This will again be the largest multi gun match (500 +shooters) with an epic prize table! If you only shoot one big match in 2012 make sure it’s the Pro Am.
The 2012 Pro Am will use the same match format developed by NRA board member Joe DeBergalis, Jeff Cramblit, and the Rockcastle crew that worked so well last year. Gary Welborn has taken the helm as Match Director and he will bring his vast experience as an MD to take this match to the next level. There will be 250+ am slots and 250+ pro slots, with a Scoped Tactical and Open Gun division in each. The amateur match will be seven stages shot on Fri/Sat with trophies and a huge random draw prize table on Sat night. The pro match will be eight stages on Fri/Sat/Sun with a huge order of finish prize table on Sunday. We are doing the stage design a little different so expect a few surprises. Match slots are going to go faster than last year, so stay on your toes.
We will once again feature the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Pro Clinics on Friday afternoon and the match will continue to heavily focus on sponsor side matches and sponsor demo matches to raise money for NRA Life of Duty charities. Each evening of the match we will have a sponsor dinner and other social events……a Rockcastle tradition. Last year several hundred spectators and 3 Gun fans came out just to participate in the side events and visit the vender tables. With AR15.com’s help we are planning for a huge increase in fans and spectators. More info will be available on the side events as the match develops.
Website info and details will be coming soon. Online registration is expected to be around Feb 15, 2012. Also, keep an eye on this post for match info and sponsor updates.
Please remember to support the sponsors that support our shooting sports. Their inventiveness and enthusiasm for the shooting sports is inspiring. The support they provide in the defense of our country and the 2nd Amendment is invaluable.

Just like last year, registration will take place on Feb 15th at 9:30pm EST. Our stats and scoring guru Linda Chico will post all of the details this week. She will have a link to a "practice" page that you will have almost two weeks to get familiar with the system.
We have a dedicated website for this match and Michael Pridemore is the webmaster. Gary, Michael, Linda and I are proofing the final content as we speak. When it is launched the site will be rock3gun.com. I promise it will be up soon.
I will tell you that we are not trying to reinvent the wheel. The match format will VERY SIMILAR to last year. Why try to fix something that was a raging success? Pros shoot 8 stages, AMs shoot 7. Stages are being designed by eight of the top Pro's as part of the "Rockcastle Signature Series."
We want to thank Chad and Pete at NBC Sport's 3 Gun Nation for giving us the honor of being one of "THE matches."
We have added two more Pros to the Pro Clinics and you will get a chance to go to more than one of the clinics this year, if you so choose. We will be putting a much bigger emphasis on the Pro/AM dimension of this match. We hope to achieve far more interaction between each Pro/Am team and both groups in general.
Sponsorship support continues to amaze me and we will once again have an All-Star staff running the match.
Stay tuned for more details......thank you all very much for your support.
Shoot the ROCK!
Nick

Registration is tomorrow night at 8:30. Don't be late. We need some help getting everyone registered. Let's start a list if who is going.

To Jesse Tischauser,
You are getting this message in advance of the posting on the internet because you were a shooter in last year's AR15.com â€" Rockcastle match, or you requested advance notification.
The 2012 AR15.com â€" Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship will be August 24th through August 26th.  It is a 3 day match for Pro shooters and a two day match for Amateurs. Signing up for the match is a 2 step process.  First, you sign in to obtain a registration code.  The sign in process (to get a registration code for the application) will be Wednesday, February 15th at 9:30 Eastern Time (8:30 Central, 7:30 Mountain & 6:30 Pacific).  Then, you add that code to the top of a completed application and send it to Rockcastle with your entry fee.
The TEST Sign in
Before the REAL Sign in on February 15th, feel free to fill out the information (http://www.LChico5u.com/ar15.html) and click the submit button.  You will get a "form letter" email message from me within 24 hours so that you can be sure your information was properly transmitted. I will clear any information at 8:30 pm Eastern Time on February 15th, so you can practice up until then, signing in.
The REAL Sign in
If you cannot personally be online at the designated time of February 15th, get some else to complete the sign in for you.  You can get shooting buddies to sign you in.  You can have your child or spouse sign you in.  There is no rule that you have to do it personally.  If you plan to designate someone else to complete sign in, have them practice on the Test Sign In before the fifteenth of the month.  Only the first sign-in will count, there is no need to  .
Note that I will not accept any official sign-in on the on-line list before 9:30 PM EST on February 15, 2012.  There is an official clock on the page.  Don't hit the submit button on February 15th before 9:30:00 on the clock.  This advance notice lets you look over the information early, get familiar with the process, so that you can you get a registration code.
We will not accept applications without a code.  Please note that filling in the screen is NOT a speed event. Errors in the email address or phone number may make it impossible to reach you. Please make sure contact information is correct. On February 15th, get to the webpage a few minutes early, so that you can fill in the information correctly, and only need to click on the "submit" button once the time is correct.  I will email you a code after you successfully submit the information to me after 9:30 PM February 15th.
We DO NOT need applications in the same envelope.  Do Not wait until you have all your friends together.  First, get into the match.  Then send me your squad requests (by email, by phone, scribbled on the application, etc).  I will honor your squadding requests.
These are 2 separate matches held at the same time:  Different number of days to shoot, different stages, and different prize tables.  You are welcome to try and obtain a registration code for both matches, but you will have to decide on the application which match you prefer to shoot.  There will be separate registration lists and separate waiting lists for the Pro & Am matches.
If you are assuming you will be a sponsored shooter, you STILL need to sign-in for a registration code.  The details of how the sponsor covers your match fees will be negotiated with the folks at Rockcastle.
At this time, we are still finalizing the match website and the application.  Entry fees have not changed since last year ($250 for Pro and $125 for Am).  The application will be on the updated match website before February 15th.  Please email if you have any questions. To Jesse Tischauser,
Linda Chico (L-2035)

I'm in! Chambers is going to sign me in since I will probably be busy at work this evening. Do think multiple people entering the same person will screw things up?

If chambers is signing himself in first and then you you may be SOL. Several of us entered multiple times last year. I'll have my laptop, phone, wife's phone, and iPad all ready to hit send on 8:30:00.

The trick is to click and hold the mouse Button on send and just release when you see the time change. That's about .2 reaction time.
