Are there any reloading manuals that are geared towards competition shooters? If not any recommendations on one manual over another?

Its been my experience to read more than one reloading manual. You will find that not all of them agree. Assimilate all of the info, keeping an eye on your pressures, and have fun. :D

We do have a thread in the reloading section about proven loads.

A lot of loads used by practical shooters are very different that what's listed in manuals. People load 40 S&W long, 9mm/38 super to major PF, and on and on.

What are you trying to load for?

Your correct. Some competition guns are modified to the extent that full power loads could potentially harm the gun.

Actually 9mm major is a 124gr bullet going 1,330+ fps and 40 long is fairly full power too. :) Loading for those guns can really bite you in the butt. Additionally lots of us load 40 with fast powder, I don't know if I've ever seen a manual load in 40 S&W using Solo1000, and certainly not loaded out to 1.18. That's more what I'm getting at.

147 grain 9mm minor, and I was also thinking about getting some 160 grain to try.
