Hello all!

I have a 10/22 that I put a Green Mountain bull barrel on did some trigger work and put it in a Hogue over mold stock. I dry fired it a bunch and everytime I cycle and reset the hammer it drops with no problems. I loaded a factory magazine today and cocked it round in chamber and pulled the trigger and like it was supposed to it went boom hit my target infront of me. It cycled the spent shell and inserted a new one like it is supposed to but wouldn't reset the hammer for a second shot. I dropped the mag cycled the new round out put the mag back in re chambered a round and it went boom like it is supposed to and again it didn't reset the hammer for the followup shot. I did this 10 times each first shot went off the follow up wouldn't catch the hammer. I then just cycled the action with no ammo and it would reset the hammer each time about half way thru the cycle I would hear it reset and then would dry fire??? Thanks so much for any and all help and advice.

Cheers!

Jason

Just a note on doing your own trigger work (not that I can say much, I've done 3 or 4 of my own guns), but it takes *very* little to go from "sweet smooth" to "doesn't function right."

In light of that:
I then just cycled the action with no ammo and it would reset the hammer each time about half way thru the cycle I would hear it reset and then would dry fire???

If I'm reading that right, it resets the hammer, but releases the hammer halfway through the cycle? If that's the case, you removed too much from the sear engagement either on the sear or the hammer. Or are you saying that even after firing rounds, you can manually cycle it and it works. I'm still going with you took off too much, or changed the sear angle; but just barely, as it works on manually cycling (much gentler than live fire) but under live fire it lets the hammer follow.
