I guess some (or maybe all) FMJ bullets have an unjacketed back end. TMJ or CMJ are jacketed all the way around. At least that's the way I understand it.

Tmj is "total metal jacket" its a fully encapsulated plated bullet. Red River tells me that theirs are a pretty thick plating. Outdoors it doesn't matter. Indoors it cuts lead exposure.
