I'm interested in those tracker rounds. Trying to get my grandson into clays for a starter. He lives in Tx, and comes up occasionally. Don't have a lot of time to work with him. Those might cut down the training time.

That's exactly what I'm looking to show my grandson. I've been honored to be a part of the women on target program at our range for several years. We have the Oklahoma Dept of Wildlife set up their SHOT program to allow the lady's to get familiar with clay shooting. They struggle, as its hard to explain to them to lead the clay.

I try to explain to them that its just like having your kid run across the yard while your spraying a water hose at them. You have to aim in front to hit the kid running across.

Sometimes it helps, and sometimes it doesn't. Probably because none of them has ever shot before, and it hasn't sunk in.

I'm thinking the trackers might help.

This rebate puts the per shell price slightly above the 100ct federal packs at walmart.

Yep! They do it every year too. That's why I've always shot AA's. Too had it so hard to find 5 complete cases at academy still. I wish I had a Rogers Sporting Goods nearby.

Good point! I don't think I've ever missed a clay cause I led it too much.

Walmart sells Winchester AA

But be careful, they sell a lot of low powered AA too.

They have "Sport" ammo for $7.87 and it is 2.75" 1300-1350fps 1.125oz 7.5 or 8 shot

Then they have "super handicap" for $7.57 and it is 2.75" 1250fps 1.125oz 7.5 shot

The super handicap specs are almost the same as the federal 100ct box which is 2.75" 1200fps 1.125oz 7.5shot

I didn't check the price on the low power stuff but its fps was under 1000.

I've been buying AAs to feed my Benellis at Wal-Mart as well. They've been $8.87/box up here in Kansas, but still a couple dollars per box cheaper than most of the gun stores. The low power loads you speak of are the Low Recoil, Low Noise 980fps and are made for pumps and break actions. I tried a couple in my Vinci, it would eject the spent round but not pick up the loaded shell off the carrier. Maybe with some spring tuning it might cycle them, but then it'd tear itself to pieces on anything hotter.

ETA: A quick way to ID the 980fps loads on the shelf is to look at the Dram Eq, it just says "MIN" instead of 3 1/4 or whatever.

So what are you guys storing yours in since you have to destroy the packaging. I just scored 15 boxes of the light loads I've been looking for and bought one of those Plano large bone collector boxes that will hold a bunch loose, but I'm worried about the ones on the bottom deforming. I think I can get 2.5 flats in this thing loose. About to go hit up the other store now. :codemafia:
