Here's another question for the guru's, what would be the best choice of barrel length? I need to sit down and read the rules as for capacity goes but I would guess a 24" would be easier to swing than a shorter barrel then again I recall how handy my Ithica was with the 22" but I'm going from field experience on Quail. I've watched one of Jesse's vids (I dig the hoveround) and it seems the extension seems to get in the way around barriers? so the question is in a perfect world what would be the ultimate barrel length? configuration (say sights, vent rib, optics) and does it HAVE to be able to fire anything longer than a 2 3/4" shotshell? Later,

I have an 18", 20", 21", & a 24" barrel. I like the feel of the gun with 18" attached the best. It's super light! You can hold 8+1 in tactical division before the start in 3 gun. So an 8 round tube limits your length to that of the equivelant of a 20-22" barrel. A lot of guys use a 9 or even a 10 round round because mostatches allow you to load A's many A's you line after the start. So then your looking at a tube length that's equivalent to a 24-26" barrel. None of those lengths really hinder close quarters movement but shorter is easier A's far A's getting into and out of doors or ports. That 12 round tube I run occasionally is A's long A's a 28-30" barrel and it can get in the way somewhat but it's a trade off between having room for 2-4 extra shells on tap.

So to answer your question it depends on what you like. Most 3 gunners use a 21 or 24.
